Age appropriate shows

So my MIL says that my daughter (7 yrs old) still watches "baby" shows and still plays with "baby" toys. Earlier my daughter was watching Bob the Builder and playing with her tool set. My MIL tells me that I should let her experience older shows and older toys. Mind u my daughter watches Disney XD which has alot of older shows and plays with Barbies and dolls. On the other hand my daughter still loves Barney and Thomas the Train. Im not going to pick and choose when she enjoys all of it. Whats your input on it? Is she still watching "baby" shows?
