Sorry ahead of time this is going to a bit lengthy. Also PLEASE make sure you READ ALL of it before you comment!

So I'm currently almost 20 weeks with my 3rd baby! My due date is December 31st. My husbands grandparents will be in town for Christmas and the new Year at that time! He has a daughter from before we met and she is the only girl out of all the grandchildren and great grandchildren. My husbands grandparents treat my boys horrible, and use the excuse "well you have to understand faith(his daughter) is going to be the favorite and spoiled she's the ONLY girl". I don't want to leave my kids at my in-laws house while I'm in the hospital having the new baby if his grandparents are there!

Both my parents passed away while I was in highschool, and both were only children so I don't have any aunts or uncles or cousins to help out! When I was in the hospital having my second, my oldest son stayed with my grandparents were a life saver and helped out so he didn't have to be with my in-laws as much since they knew how my in-laws are. Since having my second son my grandparents have past away. Yes I do have siblings but my sister works night so she can't be up all day watching them and my brother lives with his in-laws and just had a baby of his own so him and his fiancee can't either. So right now unless I want to labor and deliver on my own while my husband stays home with our boys there's no other choice other than for them to stay at my in-laws while my husbands grandparents are in town.

It's gotten to the point where for birthday's Christmas's and other gift giving holidays she will buy my step daughter new, expensive and elaborate gifts and my kids get goodwill and second hand yard sale things that either are broken half the time or missing parts.(and yes I understand it's not about the money spent on a gift that counts however the older they get the more they will see what is happening) She never gets them the right size clothes and they will usually get a few outfits each while my step daughter gets bags and bags and bags of clothes to the point we can send half of it to her mom's house and she will still outgrow clothes with tags still on them at our house! His grandmother has even gone so far as to question my parenting but to insult it as well!

The last time she was in town which of the beginning of July we were swimming at my inlaws having a BBQ. Both my boys are in speech, we did what everyone always recommends and didn't talk baby talk to them and used actual words like instead of 'oh you want a drink and giving it to them' did "oh your thirsty? Would you like milk or water' and they still both are in speech! My oldest is 4 and he has come such a long way with his speech! His teachers and therapist are so impressed with his progress! And if you can understand him that's a you not a him at this point! My husbands grandmother was getting out of the pool and my 4 year old was talking to her about dinosaurs and sharks, and she looked at him and said "stop! what are you saying i can't understand anything your saying, go find someone who can understand you!" Lucky I wasn't far away since I know how she is and "translated" for him! But as an adult I thoughts her comment was very rude and not necessary at all!

My youngest is a year and a half and is on a 6-9 month level for speech! He's been in speech for a while now and is not progressing like they first thought he would so they are recommending he goes to see an ENT Dr to make sure there is nothing wrong with his hearing! To some this might seem small but as his mother it still worries me. So after we find this out we are visiting with everyone again and his grandmother says " He's lazy, that's what it is. If you stop giving him everything he wants and catering to him he'll start using real words!" Again as his mother I can promise you we have tried this and it did nothing! His speech teachers have come to our house to observe house to see how we interact with him and actually told us to stop! If he is pointing and using hand waves and signals then to keep using real words but DO NOT DISCOURAGED him using his hands to communicate with us! And until we meet with the ENT and get a diagnosis from them his speech teachers have started teaching not only my 1yr old sign language but the rest of us also!!! I thought her comments were very inappropriate and unnecessary!

So really my questions are does anyone have any advice? Would you ask the doctor to induce you? Any tips I can start now or add to my daily routine that might make this baby come before my husbands grandparents come to town? What would you tell his grandmother?
