Beginner Workout

I am semi active but haven’t had a workout routine in years. I do have access to a good gym. What are some exercises/routines that would be good start for my pregnancy?

Walking is great. Start with 15/20 minutes and work your way up.

Best maternity work out bra?

I want to get back into running but it hurts to run at the moment and my current sports bras aren’t cutting it. Any suggestions?

Just curious— was induction your choice? Or is there a medical reason for the induction? They wanted me to have one with my son; but I wanted to go the natural route! he stayed in until 41+5 😁 I wish I had tips for you, but I do with you the best and enjoy your sweet baby💞

Low back / sciatica pain

I see something but I would try a pink dye test. More accurate the blue dye give false positives

HCG levels

Hello Mum's to be, if your HCG levels are double what you are supposed to have in a week, does it mean you could be carrying twins? For example in week 5 but levels show like am in week 7 too high

I had this recently. They thought I had a molar pregnancy but that was discarded. They realised that I ovulated twice but I'm carrying one baby

Am I pregnant?!

I’ve took 3 test and all 3 have a solid line and a faint line.

Hi! I ran until about 34 weeks with my first two pregnancies, including a half marathon at 24 weeks with my first. I haven’t run this pregnancy, but that’s a different story.First recommendation is to adjust your expectations (if you haven’t already) because you will be slower and things will feel different (joints looser, more fatigued, etc). I also wasn’t able to run very much in first trimester due to nausea and fatigue, but was able to pick it up closer to second trimester (this is super common). I didn’t need to adjust my shoe size, so I would play that by ear, but def replace your shoes AFTER pregnancy because they’ll be worn down in funny new ways. I wore a hydration pack and brought snacks for the race itself. Also be prepared to need extra potty breaks that far along.Side note - Etsy is a great place to find fun pregnant runner shirts for the big day. 😉 Hope this helps! There’s also a “Running While Pregnant” group on Facebook that you may find useful.

Yeast infection !! 1st trimester

Did anyone else use this in their first trimester?? I’m 5 weeks pregnant. And I have a yeast infection and am having bad symptoms. I’m so scared of using this afraid of miscarriage but I also know that I need to get rid of this infection.

They normally recommend Monistat as long as it’s the same ingredients it’s fine

When did you stop eating at a calorie deficit?

I had been actively trying to lose weight for this pregnancy. I am down 20 lb but not to my goal quite yet. Did you ladies start eating at maintenance immediately after your BFP or continue to lose weight for a few weeks? I run 3x a week and strength train 2x and usuallyadd those calories to my daily goal.

It’s really about the food density more than it is about the calories. If you’re eating a whole foods focused diet but you don’t consume extra calories there’s no issue. Definitely up your greens and protein to balance the nausea and cravings though😂 I don’t intend on increasing my calories until my body tells me it needs more. With my first pregnancy that wasn’t until week 16ish. So far (8 weeks) my appetite has been so low I’m not even consuming my allotted calories! Im bulking my greens and proteins as much I can to compensate and assure I’m still good for training!

Positive

Do you guys think I’m further along since it’s a dark positive?

The darkness doesn’t mean anything. There are too many variables.

Pregancy and miscarriage

It might sound silly but I have a question. Actually after a miscarriage in December I got my BFP. However , I’m so worried things will go side ways again. My question is those masturbating ( using a dildo) cause contraction that can lead to a miscarriage ?

Masturbating unless you are on pelvic rest is fine, and will not cause miscarriage

Pregnant and need help

I just found out I’m pregnant and I think I’m overweight. I’m not sure how far along I am or anything. But I need to lose a few pounds so nothing happens to my baby. Any tips on some workouts I can do as a friendly beginner Or a new diet I can try?

Speak to your doctor but I did low fat in my early pregnancy and lost 2 stone, baby came out healthy and happy, but I only kept the diet up for 8 weeks of my pregnancy and it was early days. After I lost the weight I just had a balanced diet

Training for two..

When did you tell your gym trainers that you were expecting regardlessof what type of exercises you do wheather it's pump classes, weight training, crossfit ect... I'm tossing up when to tell them now or at 12 weeks (currently 4.6weeks)

You don't need to tell them sooner than you want. Any exercise modifications aren't necessary before about 20W (multiple army pregnancies to back me up). I personally didn't tell her as I was firing her anyway because she sucked and I didn't want to work with her.

Feeling ashamed 🫠

I don’t know if it’s the pregnancy hormones or just this pregnancy, but I’ve been feeling extremely down about myself and my body. Seeing the changes happening is just making feel blah. Currently 27 weeks with baby #2, I do have a 3 year old. Wishing I would’ve tried harder to get my body back in shape and lose some weight before trying for baby #2. I didn’t feel this bad with my first. Trust me I’m grateful and blessed for this baby and my body, but just feeling down. I’m sure it sounds silly and it feels embarrassing to even think like this, anyone else on the same page? Advice? What are you doing to feel good?

You’re preparing, keeping safe and forming a whole functioning human feom that magnificent body and soul! It’s something to embrace and feel empowered and glorious about! There are some women unable to do this- however YOU can! Your body is magnificent and should be marvelled at. All that your body is doing to do this is something to marvel at, and be in awe of. It’s growing, stretching, helping stabilise that beautiful baby that’s about to meet you - that’s incredibly beautiful of your body. Be proud! I’m proud of you!
