It hasn't happened yet and no, I'm worried, not excited. But yes, I hope to see justice. I hope to see that no amount of money or power can buy an escape from accountability. I hope that his fans – including some of my own family members – finally see him for what he is. I hope that he doesn't selfishly call people to use violence to defend him. But I won't hold my breath for any of those hopes.

The last time we had repeated failed votes was exactly 100 years ago, and before that was in the lead up to the civil war. •What does this say about the state of the nation? •What will the outcome eventually be? ————————————————————————————Since it’s a complicated process, and we have an international group, a little info before we discuss: Members of congress can nominate anyone, but they must receive the majority (more than half) of votes to win. Usually this is an easy process with the party having the most members receiving the majority of votes. This year has been… different. We have a Republican controlled House, and currently Kevin McCarthy the Republican nominee is receiving neither the majority nor the plurality (most) votes. The Democratic nominee Hakeem Jeffries is receiving the plurality/most votes, but not enough to win the majority. A small group of far right Members of Congress are actively stalling the process, and it has become deadlocked. Who cares? Why does it matter? The Speaker is an extremely important role, second in line for presidency after the VP in the event of unforeseen circumstances. Congress effectively can’t function until this is done. They can’t swear in new members. They can’t pass legislation. Government and public oversight can’t commence. They can’t receive classified briefings.

I saw a really good TikTok responding to a lefty saying “Oh another day where Republicans can’t get their shit together.”In summary:Republicans ARE getting their shit together. Republicans aren’t just saying “Oh we aren’t just going to vote for you,” they’re requiring things from him if he wants their votes; single issue voting, setting a time period before voting on a bill, etc. Republicans aren’t just gonna put someone in power because he has been there a while because they’ve seen him go against conservative values so they want him to do what he’s actually elected to do. We all saw what happened with Nancy. Republicans don’t want that to happen again. Republicans expect more out of their elected leadership…doing what the people want. @theoldermillenial3 on TikTok.

Embarrassed to have ever been a registered republican. Can't even do the simple job of electing a speaker so they can get to work. When I was a republican I was proud of being a member of the party that worked and got things done and was fiscally responsible. Now all I see is political stunts, showmanship and wasting of my money as a tax payer for stunts and news stories. I am an independent now and hope one day I can register again as a republican but not when they can't work with each other let alone the other sides and people like Boebart and Gaetz are vocal leaders. Nope...this is not my party anymore. And I am sick of being called a RINO. I was a registered republican for decades until 2020. These Maga politicians are the rinos not those who have been Republicans and followed party ideals for years and years. Maga has been around since 2016 but yet I am the RINO for not agreeing with the new guard that has totally different ideals. Stopping work isn't working, it is throwing a tantrum and that is what it seems like many have done. I don't like many of the democrats either and they are just as problematic but who is in chambers agreed and ready to work and who isn't?? My husband wasn't a marine to have this clown show be representative of our democracy. It is a insult to those who fought for our country and want ro get things done. If admin wants to move it to politics or whatever fine but there is a very agressuve group of Maga women on here I don't want stalking me again. I blocked, emailed and even changed my name to hide from them. I posted about losing my baby at 19 weeks in 2018 and 1 actually said they were glad so I didn't bring my spawn into the world.

Putin has been putting out propaganda for decades that "democracy doesn't work," "the system is broken," and "government is bad." And now there are elected Americans attempting to create a reality to fit the lies. Because despite the propaganda, we've actually had a very functional democracy. Democracy is a government of citizens, chosen by citizens. Our government, our democracy, IS us - literally. But the propaganda makes us forget. If our democracy is dysfunctional, then it is because we are dysfunctional; if our democracy is broken, then it is because we are broken. A democracy is not perfect. But if we turn our backs on democracy and refuse to participate, if instead we engage in political violence, or refuse to accept the result of our elections, if we become apathetic and no longer vote, or no longer have people run for office who genuinely intend to serve and guide our nation toward become a more perfect union, then we will no longer have a democracy.

It's not just advertising on traditional media, They are also putting false messages out on social media and this election cycle I also got a slew of really disturbingly false text messages. I will copy/paste a few here (I'm removing candidate's name):Politician is sending her army of new IRS agents to knock on your door. supported hiring 87,000 new IRS agents to collect taxes on working families and families making less than $10,000. — ruled to let sex offenders back on social media. She also supports eliminating cash bail, letting criminals back on our streets. Our kids and our neighborhoods won't be safe with . —Senate Leadership Fund here. is trying to take away what you worked so hard for by destroying your retirement savings and causing soul crushing inflation.

While I agree, pardon those who went to jail for having under an ounce on them…. (They pose no threat to society in my opinion) This also doesn’t make sense. It states that it will pardon those who committed a FEDERAL offense for SIMPLE possession. Simple possession is a STATE guided law. The only way someone would go to federal court is if they crossed state borders with more an an ounce of marijuana on them with the intent to distribute. So that then makes it no longer simple possession. I am curious out of the thousands of inmates in jail for “simple possession”…. What percentage was a federal crime
