Hello my fellow high prolactin peeps!

My story is so similar to a lot of people with high prolactin. I have a son and after I stopped BF my period never came back. Went into fertility treatment with injections and clomid and didn’t ovulate on the highest dosages, OB never tested my prolactin even though I was still lactating a year after I stopped feeding. Fast forward through a year of dark depression and trying to save for IVF as my OB told me that was my only option.

A visit to my GP about my depression and a blood test gave me all the answers... high prolactin.

Fast forward again to a visit with the endo and I’m on cabergoline .5 once a week. My period came in week 6, it was super painful, really heavy and lasted 16 days!! It finished, I ovulated not long after and hubby and I did the dance at the opportune time.

Everything seemed to be going fine, depression lifting, life is good! I ran out of tablets and for a week I forgot to take my script with me so I essentially missed a dose.

Now it’s been 5 weeks and 3 days since my last period, I spotted the day i thought it was due, just one red streak on the paper and no sign since. My nipples are super sensitive and really sore. I’ve had mild cramping and it’s total zit city all over my chin and neck!

I have a test in the bathroom but taking tests cause a lot of anxiety and emotional road blocks. 4 years trying for my first and its now 3 years trying for my second.... that’s a lot of disappointment and it tends to trigger me.

I guess what I’m looking for is an idea of whether missing that one week of cabergoline has messed up my cycle all over again and the sore nipples are a side effect of the drug (although I don’t remember them ever being this sore).

I like to go into testing with a reasonable idea of what my symptoms are really telling me....
