Zion’s first cut

Zion did not cry during his first haircut. He was curious., and kept moving his head to see the person cutting his hair face and also turning at the sound of the Machine. There are a few scratches at the front of his hairline due to me moving violently / suddenly while his Barber was working on his hairline

Hair growth

I feel like my nine month old has crazy amount of hair for her age and I love it. She’s always had a lot of hair she was born with a ton of hair but I was honestly expecting her to loose it like most babies but she didn’t. I just wanna show some appreciation to my little monsters massive hair growth.

We’re in the same boat 🤣

Not sitting independent

My 9 month old is not sitting independently yet. I’m still having to try to use support and other techniques of practice from a physiotherapist. She’s diagnosed as motor delayed. Anyone else have experience with this? Not sitting independently by this age. Also she is kinda crawling she can push her self around but not yet army crawling

Baby refuses to eat

My baby is almost 9 months and refuses to eat baby food, teething crackers, or anything other than a bottle. I am so frustrated. I have tried everything. She is so constipated everyday. She won’t drink any fruit juices either! Help!

Mine is the same she’ll eat some fruit purées or the puff stars. But other food she has no interest in whatsoever even when I try to feed her. She just stops opening her mouth.

Breast feeding

My daughter is 8 months. I have started working and going back to school but I’m struggling to make her take a bottle I have tried changing the bottle and nothing works I tried doing only formula im hopes of her taking a bottle but haven’t had any luck. If anyone knows way to make her a take bottle while I’m at work. I don’t want to take her completely off breastfeeding but I do need her to take a bottle since she won’t drink any milk until she sees me

Just keep offering and offering eventually bubs will take to it. I use the pigeon bottles with the wide neck teat they’re supposedly meant to be very similar in the way they suck to be the breast

Crawling

So my daughter is almost 8 months old and she and yet to crawl we have tried everything to even her favorite toys what is a way to get her to want to try to crawl

Mine is 9 months and kinda crawling it’s like pushing herself forward so not really crawling and she’s not even sitting unassisted. So every baby is different

What does your June baby eat??

Hey!I’m wondering if your babes are doing mostly purée at meal times or if most of you have moved on to just softer foods? I’m still offering a little of both. Also, baby led weaning…. I’m terrified of her choking if I give her a big piece to take bites off of. What is everyone’s experience with choking and baby led weaning?

I love BLW. We started with purees and the solid form when he met all the signs of readiness. For the first few weeks he'd have a pureed form of a food, say banana, then in the evening he'd have an actual banana served like it's recommended for babies (which was spears at the time). I was anxious about choking but honestly, his gag reflex is amazing and he really makes sure he can swallow what he has. If not he just spits it out. He's up to 2 meals a day now and he eats so much. He eats yogurt, oatmeal, toast, eggs, pancakes, bliss balls for breakfast. Then for dinner it's a form of what we're having. He loves Rotisserie chicken (plain chicken or tortilla quesadillas), spinach pasta, pulled pork. Tonight he had homemade stuffed pepper soup (lowered sodium content which is important under 1).Check out Solid Starts. They're a wonderful resource. They have an entire food database that shows you how to serve and explains how to cook it per their age. They also have blogs dedicated to gagging vs choking and how to handle both. Start small and slowly build your way up to it. FeedingLittles, YummyToddlerFood, BabiesFeedingBabies & FeedingTinyBellies on Instagram are really great for meal ideas, too.

Freezing formula

Good morning! My 7 month old has been EBF. I’ve been both nursing when with her and pumping at work, etc. I have a pretty good stash (400 ish oz?). I’m ready to slowly start weaning so I’m only pumping once a day on top of nursing her before and after work. I’d like my stash to make it to a year but I think I’ll have to do some combo feeding to stretch it that far. I’ve been mixing an oz of formula in her breast milk about once or twice a day for the past couple weeks. She tolerates it well. My question: can I freeze the breast milk/formula mixture? I currently take about 15 frozen breast milk bags (4 oz each) to daycare a week. If it’s possible, I’d like to freeze the mixture then send to daycare. Thanks!

I wouldn't freeze formula either. I've read it can compromise the nutrients. I stopped pumping but have a nice freezer stash. I'm also trying to stretch it to a year so I introduced formula with the bottles as well. I typically make my bottles for the entire day, though i do 1-2 bottles breastmilk and 2-3 bottles formula. Typically only 1 is breastmilk and topped with formula. Is that an option for you, so you'll only transport the pre-made bottles and some spare frozen milk? Or is transporting the bags easier?
