I posted something on fb about deadbeat dads. I get a text from his mom. She knows he not a good dad but wouldn’t say he is a deadbeat. A deadbeat is someone who never wants to see his kids.

He don’t pay his child support, hasn’t had a job in 4 years. He makes promises he can’t keep to the boys and don’t show up for them. He missed their kindergarten graduation. He knew when it was. Dead beat!! I told her I’ve been trying to get him to at least keep them every weekend. He lives 5 mins away. Last night I get this text back from her

Okay so, I was happy! Like yay. But then I kept reading and it just rubbed me the wrong way for some reason.

She said they will be his responsibility but mommy had to step up for him again. Oh and the food part.. like if she can’t provide food. Then why didn’t she just say, he should step up and be more involved parent but I can’t force him. I don’t have the money to feed them.

This is a man who is over a decade older than me. I’m 27 he is 41. He needs to get a job and help with bills and food.

I haven’t responded to her text yet. I will probably just say okay great. But I want to say stop enabling your son!! And I might cause I’m tired of biting my lip. Idk what to do. I can’t help her with food. So maybe I will just say if you don’t have enough money for food that weekend then we just switch the weekend around.? I’m rambling I know. Anyways have any advice?
