I take another deep breath and enter, saluting the King. He demands to know why there were spiders when we had driven them out two months ago. And then says were not to kill them at their source. How else are we to stop them infesting our lands. I zone out then until he mentions Tuor. ' Legolas says Tuor fought well today. ' I agree. My son is talented though only 10. Thranduils next words take away any sense of pride in my son. 'He is very like you. Indeed like one of the Noldor. More like one of the Noldor than a wood elf. ' I frown. Thranduil is sounding ominous. 'If he continues to become like your people of the Noldor he will be remove from your care and raised as a wood elf.' My mouth drops open and I can't stop the angry flush I feel rising to my cheeks. Thankfully he is facing the other way. If he decides that Legolas and I aren't fit to raise a child then he will take Tuor. But he cannot know that Legolas and I have conceived another child can he? Or that we have been teaching our son the songs and crafts of the Noldor. Thranduil dismisses me and I almost run back to Legolas before I break down. Normally I would not be like this but the knowledge that I could hear a child just to have it taken as well as my Tuor is too much. Legolas sees my face as soon as I enter our apartments and sends Tuor off with Anira. And so we make a desperate plan. But it could just work. If the dwarves we captured are willing to work with us. If the butler and the captain of the guard drink dorwinion wine. If Legolas and I are on the guard roster the morning of the second day of the Feast of Starlight. If Tuor is willing and understands. If Thranduil is not too suspicious. If the orcs roaming our borders are not there. So many ifs. But it is our only chance to get Tuor away until we can Send him to my mother and father in Lothlorien.
