7 Days Post Op

I just had an Open Myomectomy September 3,2024.. they took out 5 Fibroids the two largest one were weighing down on my uterus causing it to fold over which caused two miscarriages, the latest miscarriage was Aug 3rd, 2024 and it was so painful. I had to have these murderers removed ASAP… I only seen my Doctor a day after the surgery he said everything looks good everything is still intact and I should be able to conceive in 6-12months after a major surgery you want to allow your womb to heal. Trying to early you run a risk of your uterus rupturing during your third trimester or labor… I was able to walk on my own a day after surgery however it still hurts like hell 7 days later.. I’m still taking it easy no yelling , standing for too long Doctor doesn’t want me to return to work until 6 weeks but idk about that I need my money but I will certainly take it easy… I will update my recovery at 14 days post op

I had mine removed the 10/9/24….it was 15cm, they told me to avoid pregnancy for 12 months…my incision was a midline as the fibroid was at the fundus of the uterus….my follow up with the doc is next month…hoping for the best 🙏🏼

My Myomectomy!

I had my surgery on Monday July 15th. Yall.. I wasn’t ready. I read that this surgery and recovery is painful but I didn’t realize how bad it would be. I had a fibroid removed off of the outside of my uterus and a cyst removed from my right ovary. The photo of the mass in the bucket is the cyst. The one that is still attached to my body is the fibroid. Can yall tell me about your recovery and how long it took for you to start feeling better? Also, did yall have a lot of fluid build up after surgery? I’ve gained 20 pounds of fluid since surgery. 😫

Miscarriage 2020 at 8wks 🚫💗, open myomectomy in Aug of ‘23. The best thing for me! No pain really after or complications, everything that should have happened during healing did, and first cycle was not too bad. Cramps can get a bit rowdy at times but I changed diet and started juicing (morning routine). There were times I couldn’t get out of bed, stand or walk due to fibroids before the surgery. I take exercising easy but I do strength training and plenty of cardio with breaks in time and just during breaks calorie deficit my way through. With 28 in total had 26 removed, 2 had to remain because of location and risk. We had to wait 6 months before ttc again. During the time of scheduling surgery got a bfp😳in May right before our Jamaica trip, two days later hcg #’s ⬇️ which I was ok with at that time, because I wanted the surgery for a better quality of life. Currently in tww window so wish us luck!! 🌈💗✨ and 🙏🏽⬆️✨ to all!

Myomectomy

Hello everyone! I’m posting in the group today for some advice on my upcoming myomectomy. I have two fibroids: one on my right that’s 8 cm and one on my left 3 cm, and a few small ones that my doctor is going to try to remove. If you’ve had fibroids this big removed before, can you tell me how your healing process went? I know everyone will be different, but it will help ease my mind a little if I hear others’ stories

Hysteroscopic myomectomy

How long after your hysteroscopic myomectomy can you work out, lift things over ten pounds, bathe, and have sex? The hospital gave me the wrong at home care sheet. They gave me a sheet for a hysterectomy instead 🤷🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️ I’m going to call my ob’s office Monday but I just wondered if anyone here has had this and knew?

Myomectomy and IVF

I am scheduled for an open myomectomy in two weeks and we will be starting IVF after doctor clears me after I heal. My question is I know it will be easier afterward because right now a fibroid is blocking my left fallopian tube. How did everyone’s healing process go? If you did IVF after the myomectomy, how many cycles did you go through before you got pregnant? All responses are appreciated! Thank you 🙏🏻

Myomectomy recovery and TTC

So after googling and researching the topic on myomectomy….. it seems like no one has gotten pregnant after a myomectomy? I am 2 wks post op from my surgery. Dr said I can try after 6 wks... I’m about to be 43. Feel like there is no chance for me then to get pregnant. 😩😩😩Please respond. If anyone has gotten pregnant after this surgery. There was no way for me to conceive due to where the smallest fibroid was in my uterus. 😣

Hi! I just had surgery on Wednesday, my doctor informed me that same day my uterus was looking very healthy and my chances are high. I have been doing a lot of research and read myomectomy increases chnces 30-70% if the fibroid alone was the problem. Make sure to ask the fertility specialist they can help with any other issues to become a mom 💕 best of luck

Discharge after hysteroscopy.

Hello, I recently had surgery (hysteroscopy for a fibroid and polyps) one month ago. And for the last two weeks I’ve been having the discharge below daily and sometimes it’s black like tar in color. Any ideas of what it could be? It is causing irritation. Thanks. P.s I am also on continuous active pill only birth control per doctors orders.

It looks like old blood with clots 🤷‍♀️ I wouldn’t be concerned unless it smells then ask your doctor

Submucosal Fibroid Removal and TTC

Hi everyone I just joined this group. My fertility specialist suspects I have a 1.6 cm submucosal fibroid. I have a hysteroscopy scheduled for next month to see if this is the case. If if is, he will remove it then and there. My question is for anyone that has had a submucosal fibroid, how long did you have to wait before your doctor gave you the all clear to try getting pregnant? I’m worried that I’ll have to wait 3 months after it’s removed (if the doctor wants it removed) to be able to try but time is if the essence as I just turned 39. Any advice from others with this same type of fibroid ?

Ja

I have the exact same, had three missed miscarriages under 12 weeks. I have one submucosal fibroid at the top of uterus. One doctor advised to have it removed other says leave it and try again. Im worries about complications if i have it removed and recovery time as I am 39 and dont have time on my side. I’m so confused on what to do!

Hysteroscopic and Laparoscopic Myomectomy

Pics below: I had a hysteroscopic and laparoscopic myomectomy for uterine fibroids on August 11, 2022 and wanted to share my experience. My fertility specialist found 4 fibroids during an ultrasound, one which was in the area of implantation, ultimately preventing pregnancy for the past 12 years with my husband. I was referred to the surgeon who then explained the surgery in detail (4 incisions needed, the biggest fibroid about the size of a golf ball, a morcelator instrument needed for some of the fibroids to be removed) and suggested the myomectomy for fibroid removal, and I agreed to proceed. There are no guarantees the surgery will result in pregnancy, but the possibility of eliminating the harsh monthly cycle symptoms and pelvic pain, is enough for me to make the decision. I was instructed to wash myself with a surgical soap 3 showers prior to the surgery. I arrived at the hospital, and was asked to wipe myself down with antibacterial wipes once again to prevent infection during surgery. I was taken to the operating room, and before I knew it, the general anesthesia had already taken its’ course. I woke up about 3.5 hours later in the recovery room. I remember not being able to control the shaking and tremors (apparently this is very common after anesthesia). I was extremely cold, and the hospital staff had multiple blankets on top of me, along with hot air being blown under my hospital robe. I would rate the pain immediately after surgery at an 8 out of 10 at the incision sites, but the nurses were extremely attentive to my needs, and kept me medicated until the pain subsided. After the pain subsided, I was taken to my hospital room to rest. My specific surgery required an overnight stay at the hospital. The doctor later provided pictures of the fibroids that were removed (actually removed 5 vs the original 4 that were planned) and he also found endometriosis which he surgically removed while he was in my uterus. I was discharged from the hospital the next day after lunch, and was instructed on how to take care of the Jackson Pratt drain that was attached to one of my incision sites, to drain the fluids (mostly blood) from the incision site. The recovery at home for the first couple of days has been painful, specially when getting up and laying down for bed time. My husband has been my support system this entire time helping me shower, go to the bathroom, feeding me, etc. I felt out of breath every time I would walk from the living room to our kitchen the first 3 days. I was given prescription pain medication, but only took it one night and decided to stop after it gave me hallucinations, tremors, and overall not feeling like myself. I continued to manage the pain with OTC Tylenol. I came to the conclusion that most of my pain was a result of gas pressing up against the incision sites and area of surgery. Not fun! The 3rd night I noticed an infection developing next to the incision site, and immediately called my surgeon. The very next morning I went to the surgeons office, and the infection was nothing serious, just an allergic reaction to the surgical tape. My incision sites were also re-dressed during this appointment. During this same appointment, the surgeon decided I was ready to remove the drain and drain stitches. This was not a pleasant experience, and was extremely painful, but I got through it. I am feeling much better now, the 4th day after surgery. I feel like I’m regaining my energy, and been able to get up on my own, and do things for myself.I’m hoping this surgery will make way for my husband and I to conceive in the next couple of months (we can start trying again in 2 months). If not, at least I took care of fibroids that would continue to grow, and continue to cause pain. I’ll be back to let you all know if we were able to conceive or not. I’m keeping a positive outlook, and hoping for the best.Pic: Shortly after surgery1 week after surgery, with drain removed

Ma

Your surgery and recovery sound so similar to mine. I had 10 total fibroids with 8 being removed on June 1, 2023. How long were you advised to wait before ttc as well how long did it actually take? Congrats on the baby boy I so hope I can say the same in 2024… praying for a baby boy.

Myomectomy

Had a laparoscopic myomectomy on March 24. What was a 2.5 hr surgery for a “softball” sized fibroid (6.5x7x7.8) turned into a 7 hr surgery with successful removal of 12cm fibroid! Doctor said my uterus was at 16weeks. Was up and walking right away however the pressure and pain was intense for first 24hrs. It was located at the top fundal portion of my uterus putting extreme pressure blocking all Fallopian tube access. I’m 36yo with symptoms of pressure causing hemorrhoids, frequent urination and sometimes the inability to urinate due to pressure causing urethra blockage. Biggest fear of not being able to conceive when the time comes. Feeling hopeful and relieved to have this behind me. Doctor was an all star and assured me the procedure was a success. Guess time will tell. Hopeful to have advice for anyone in the future. Many blessings

My Myomectomy Story....

I am 42 and finally had my Myomectomy! It was the best thing I could do for myself!!! I feel the weight lifted off of me. Going into surgery I was 199lbs now I am 185lbs I am almost 4 weeks post op and feeling good it took time to get here but I am proud that I did it. In 2016 I lost my daughter at 20 weeks due to fibroid growth and my water breaking early and I had to give birth to a stillborn 😢 that rocked my world to the core I went through so much. From Doctors trying to give me a hysterectomy and not listening to my needs.I basically had to start over from the iron infusions, blood transfusions you name it with a large fibroid in tow. Listen to yourself and God First! Change your diet and don’t let people or situations stress you out!I went through the years trying to find the right team to help me remove this large fibroid, finally in October 2020 I found the right team and on December 3 They removed that huge fibroid out of my womb! Now I can heal and God willing try for my rainbow baby 🌈 👶🏽 with my new partner 💕

Did you get pregnant? I’m also 42 and just had my surgery. Hoping I get pregnant soon. As I’m getting older 😣

laparoscopic myomectomy

Hi! Had laparoscopic myomectomy in June this summer. Had my period a few days after surgery, just for 2-3 days, more like light discharge. Had my period in July, normal,5-6 days. Now I’m 20 days late. I know it’s too early to TTC. I tested and got 2 negatives. I am 44. Wondering if I’m pregnant anyways. Know it would be risky give. I just had surgery less than 3 months ago. Has anyone gotten pregnant too soon after laparoscopic myomectomy?????

I need surgery

Should I have laparoscopic surgery or myomectomy? Did anybody have surgery recently that can share their experience. I am worried about the scarring and just scared. I want a baby so badly though. I have had three miscarriages. I have one big fibroid that is 8 cm and then another one 5 cm and then a few small ones. The big one is affecting my fertility they said. Did anybody do the robotic surgery? Where they make a few holes in your abdomen?
