Miscarriage scare

I ended up having a subchorionic hematoma (hemorrhage) yesterday and am scared to death that it will result in a miscarriage. The doctor said this was common. However, I nor anyone I know has ever heard of it due to pregnancy. This is to include family/friends in the medical field. I guess when the baby attached it created this blood pocket that ended up rupturing. Yesterday I for sure thought I had a miscarriage and went into the doctor. They told me it only slightly increases miscarriage chances, but to just not be very active. I don’t have to be on bed rest, but can only be very slightly active. This is my first pregnancy so I scares me that there is about a 30% chance if miscarriage already. Has anyone else had this or even heard of this before? I am not sure what I should do. The cramping is painful and I am still slightly spotting from the now open wound where it hemorrhaged.

Lower Spine Defect - 12/13 Week Scan

Hi All,Can you share your experiences with potential spine or other defects that showed up on the 12 week Nuchal Scan, and how accurate (or wrong) it was? Trying to be hopeful but also realistic and arm myself with as much info. Just saw my high risk doctor today and while he can’t rule out an issue based on the scan, he also can’t confirm an issue. He had a difficult time seeing the lower part of the spine. He was able to point some images that showed promise of “it” not being an issue but considering the difficulty of not seeing it in all scans, he didn’t want to rule it out either. Current plan is to get another scan in 2 weeks, followed by early anatomy scan and potentially amniocentesis. But of course, I’m trying to do all the research and hopeful this is a non-issue. Any experiences would be helpful!! Thank you!!

Need Advice

Hello! I am looking for advice/opinions. So to start here is a little bit of my background. I apologize in advance for this being a little lengthy. When I was 34 weeks and 4 days pregnant with my son in 2019 I was sent to labor and delivery due to my high blood pressure. They did some tests and found out that my organs were shutting down. I would later find out this was due to a sudden onset of preeclampsia and HELLP syndrome. Due to him being in a breeched position and my levels dropping so fast they did an emergency cesarean delivery that I had to be put completely to sleep for. It was all a rush with no information given to me other than the fact of if I left the hospital pregnant that day I was going to die and this caused my anxiety to go through the roof. In December of 2020, I had a miscarriage.I am now currently on my third pregnancy and everything seems to be going great so far. I was told to take baby aspirin starting right around 12 weeks until the day I deliver. I went in fully prepared to have a repeat cesarean delivery but was asked if I had considered a VBAC. I had a consult regarding a VBAC, however, they kept repeating that "if this happens.....you'll have a cesarean delivery" My issue is this high-risk doctor is at a different hospital and I've never actually met these doctors. Whereas, my current doctor while she isn't a high-risk doctor specifically she has been taking care of me thus far and would be my repeat c-section if I opt for one. I'm super comfortable with her and trust she would give me all information needed instead of freaking out like the nurses at the previous hospital that were not prepared for the emergency that was thrown into their lap with me. With the high-risk doctors since I've only met with 2 doctors that gave off not the best vibes, I'm not sure I would be as comfortable especially if I am told I have to have a c-section.After having such a scary c-section to begin with I am TERRIFIED of the outcome of either option. I have done a bunch of research regarding a VBAC vs repeat cesarean. But nothing I can find regards having had preeclampsia or HELLP syndrome in the past pregnancy. All I am asking, is if anyone on here has had a successful VBAC after having gotten sick in a previous pregnancy?I am fully aware that only a doctor can give me all of the risks and facts about this. I'm just looking for someone who has had an experience with it and how it went. Sadly, I don't know anyone who has had a VBAC or has gotten sick like I did.

Mo

My 3rd baby was a HELLP syndrome baby with kidney failure and she was in distress and an emergency c section. My 4th was supposed to be a vbac but baby wouldnt come out and my blood pressure was getting high, so I ended up in another c section. I would opt to try the vbac. If you go into labor naturally, great, your vbac will likely be successful especially since youre not a first time mom. If at the very end youre overdue or your blood pressure is getting too high, then you can change your mind and get a c section with your preferred dr.

Gestational diabetes

Hello ladies ! I just found out I might have gestational diabetes.. I have to go for more testing but I’m currently 24 weeks pregnant. Any tips ?? And does this go away after the baby is born ??

Me

Definitely manageable and goes away after you have the baby. They’ll have you monitor your glucose with a glucometer everyday. It helps to have a food diary to keep track of what you’ve been eating and anything that may be causing any spikes to readings. This was really useful for managing glucose and diet because I would bring in my food diary and discuss it with my ob or midwife at each Appt. Drink lots of water 💧 and remember that it’s temporary 🥰 the fun part is deciding what you wanna eat once you have the baby 🤗🤗🤗😅😅😅 I’m currently monitoring my glucose with my 3rd and I’m torn between carrot cake or cinnamon rolls after giving birth 😂😅🤪

High risk

Hello I’m 38 weeks and 5 days today and I have an appointment later with my ob, I had an appointment last week and she mentioned the fact that I might be getting induced. My pregnancy is considered high risk due to gallstones, hyperemesis gravidarum, a hemorrhage that I had at the beginning and some other reasons. My question is, has anyone gone through this? She scheduled my appointment for today so she can check me again and talk about the possibility of being induced, I’ve been 1cm dilated since 37 weeks. I’ve been induced before with my first daughter and She ended up in the nicu because of her oxygen being low (not sure if it had anything to do with the induction), my son was born without being induced, but I’m wondering if it’s normal for her to want to induce me with this pregnancy because of it being high risk?

Ja

Here are the medical reasons for induction: - Nearing 1 to 2 weeks past due date without labor starting (postterm pregnancy).- When labor doesn't begin after the water breaks (prelabor rupture of membranes).- An infection in the uterus (chorioamnionitis).- When the baby's estimated weight is less than the 10th percentile for gestational age (fetal growth restriction).- When there's not enough amniotic fluid surrounding the baby (oligohydramnios).- Possibly when diabetes develops during pregnancy (gestational diabetes), or diabetes exists before pregnancy.- Developing high blood pressure in combination with signs of damage to another organ system (preeclampsia) during pregnancy. Or having high blood pressure before pregnancy, developing it before 20 weeks of pregnancy (chronic high blood pressure) or developing the condition after 20 weeks of pregnancy (gestational hypertension).- When the placenta peels away from the inner wall of the uterus before delivery — either partially or completely (placental abruption). Here are the risks of induction:- Failed induction. An induction might be considered failed if the methods used don't result in a vaginal delivery after 24 or more hours. In such cases, a C-section might be necessary.- Low fetal heart rate. The medications used to induce labor — oxytocin or a prostaglandin — might cause the uterus to contract too much, which can lessen the baby's oxygen supply and lower the baby's heart rate.- Infection.- Uterine rupture. This is a rare but serious complication in which the uterus tears along the scar line from a prior C-section or major uterine surgery.- Bleeding after delivery. Labor induction increases the risk that the uterine muscles won't properly contract after giving birth, which can lead to serious bleeding after delivery

I’m in the same boat. I bled bright red this morning and had two small clots (only when I wiped) and then went on to have a lot of goopy brown. I went in for an ultrasound and everything was fine. It wasn’t my normal dr though, so I still feel weird about it. & I’m on progesterone also. Almost 11 weeks and I’ve had the SCH since around 7 weeks and never experienced bright red until today.

Placenta accreta

Has anyone had a scan that didn’t show placenta accreta but still ended up having it? I had undiagnosed accreta with my first pregnancy and hemorrhaged after birth. With my second I went to a specialist for a scan and they said they couldn’t rule it out one way or another, but everything went smoothly at birth. I’m pregnant with my third baby and my doctor said he didn’t see any signs of accreta on my scan at 28 weeks but I’m not sure how much I can trust that.

Er

Remember different tests have different levels of sensitivity - First Response is one of most sensitive tests on the market, so it’s going to show darker than others. You’re pregnant honey 💜 Remember these tests are just to confirm pregnancy. It can’t tell you how high your HCG is, or how healthy your pregnancy is, or anything other than you’re pregnant.

Truly sorry

I apologize about my post about our struggling situation on here concerning getting back and forth to see my son…. I thought it was a safe place. Please forgive me….!!!! Thanks for responding and letting me know guys…..!!!!!

Labour

Hi ladies, I have been having on and off pains for 5 days now, doing what I can to help shift this little one along, currently 37weeks 2 days, I'm booked in for the Foley balloon induction on the 30th July, what did you ladies do when you where getting pains. Anything that may help or even just help with gravity, mumma bear is struggling so much, have severe acid reflux, spd and unaligned hips, back ache and uncomfortable down below. My midwife has said I can ask the drs at the hospital if she can do a stretch and sweep at 38 weeks which I'm going to discuss with them. But I feel like I've been doing a workout with the lower backache.Good luck to any mum's due to have a baby soon or overdue.Contractions where showing on my ctg when I was in when it first started but they weren't strong and not dilating me, they've been on and off, had a couple throughout again and it stops me in my tracks. I'm so fed up now and wish my body would make it's mind up what it is doing

Mucus plug

Hi ladies 36+ 3days pregnant, for 7 days I've been losing my mucus plug to the point I had to go get checked as I thought my waters were leaking. I'm losing it 5/6 x in a day, I know it can regenerate but surely not as quick as I'm losing it. I've also had on and off period pains and being very uncomfortable. Anyone else had this and not been long before labour started. This heat is killing me. Want our baby here now

36 weeks

Hi ladies.I'm.currently 36 weeks today, I have been in hospital 3 times previously due to reduced movements, and 2x in less then 24 hours also with suspect leaking waters currently at the assesment unit now . I have only felt her 3 times, since 29 weeks till 36 I have been up hospital 5 times. They mentioned yesterday.induction at 39 weeks. Could they end up inducing me earlier because of the last 24 hours. I have leaking fluid with mt first at 31 and had her at 36. I'm a little worried as it's been 9 years and I don't remember. I have had back ache and period pains, feel like my waters are bulging and I have had lightening crotch with loosing my mucus plug over the last 5 days. I don't know what to expect as everything's changedm has anyone else had this. I am a high risk pregnancy due to early rupture and 800ml blood loss after birth

Your body’s gearing up for labor. It can be weeks till you’re ready it doesn’t mean it’s coming now so just rest and maybe take some walks. I just had my baby a couple weeks ago and the same thing happened to me but I didn’t go into real labor for another couple weeks

Desperately looking for success stories

Has anyone diagnosed with pulmonary embolism during pregnancy carried baby to term and recovered? Does anyone out there know what I'm going through? In desperate need of support!

I developed a blood clot the length of my leg and several PE’s in both lungs while I was 8 weeks pregnant with my now 3 year old son! I was on Lovenox throughout the remainder of my pregnancy and 6 weeks PP. The shortness of breath got better within two weeks and by three weeks I was breathing normally! I know its a super scary thing to go through but you will be just fine and your labor will be fine and your baby will be healthy! 💕

What is the reason that your pregnancy would be high risk? So many people have "high risk pregnancies" but the reason for that isn't always something scary, it's often just a precaution of "this could happen". Also, I would give him time to grieve before even trying to discuss pregnancy or anything else that could be major. He probably isn't anywhere near ready to have a major discussion about anything.

Cervical funneling

Yesterday I went in for an ultrasound due to spotting that has been going on for 1.5-2 months. I was told I have cervical funneling and was put on a lift restriction and pelvic rest. I am 24 weeks and had a csection 8 months ago (if that changes anything). I am curious if anyone knows what this means for me. Is preterm birth something I need to watch out for? Are there any things I should ask of my doctor such as steroids to help my babies lungs grow or anything to help us through this? Really I’m just looking for any and all the insight I can get on this as I’ve never experienced it before.

Follow the instructions for your best chance I bled all through my pregnancy and followed the same restrictions making it to 37 weeks.

Lovenox Injections

Any mommies out there dealt with these shots during pregnancy? They are so painful and make me feel like crap. I guess I'm looking for some encouragement. 11 weeks 2 days here so I have quite a bit to go. Does it get easier with time taking these shots? How's birth on blood thinners?

I’m currently on these shots for my pregnancy. Started about the time you posted this. I’m now 18.2 weeks. I hope things have gotten better for you with them. Some things I’ve found helpful to avoid severe bruising, the fluid bumps under skin and the burning pain of it after.Don’t push the needle protector cover out while it’s still inserted. (My boyfriend would at first and my bruising was severe because of it)Push the needle in slowly, and inject slowly.Avoid injecting into the fluid lumps.Don’t rub the fluid bumps. (They burst and cause more bruising)I hope some of this helps. Hope everything has gotten better since you’ve posted. If you have any tips for me. I’d love to hear anything you’ve figured out that helps you!Maybe we can collaborate on it. As I feel so alone in all of it. With the questions, fears, and anxieties with all of it.

Pulmonary Embolism during pregnancy

Any mommies out there been through this and came out on the other side? I was diagnosed 3 days ago at 10 weeks. I stayed in the hospital 2 days and they told me my vitals were stable enough to go home and continue lovenox my whole pregnancy...I'm obviously scared and struggling any words of advise?
