New to being vegan

I’m trying to become a vegan. I live with people who eat a LOT of meat. My husband and I budget every month and have to wait until next month to go grocery shopping. I USUALLY only buy ingredients after I find a recipe. Any tips and recipes would be helpful! Thank you!

there are tons of good books for vegan food, Bosh is good x

What is your favorite vegan meal?

I’m trying to figure out something special to eat that I normally wouldn’t spring for if it’s too expensive. But I want to go all out for my anniversary. So what are some of the best vegan meals you have had? Expensive is not a problem.

Pasta (love barillas protein plus it’s all plant based ingredients and tastes like regular pasta) and they have most of the different shapes so just mix and match with vegan sauces

Vegetarian friendly meals for a toddler?

My son is 17m. And he’s kind of a picky eater. I think it has more to do with texture. What are some healthy meal plans? I’ve tried looking up on google, but I’m having trouble finding stuff he could eat. I also do not have an oven at the time, but I have an air fryer. Also, is soy okay for him to eat? Like tofu? I’ve heard that’s not good for men to eat tofu because it can cause health issues.

Here is a really good vegan formula to have on hand for da babyyyy. But as for yourself, if you want to do it all in one go I would clean out your fridge of all animal products. Buy the staples - spices, almond or soy milk, rice, grains like quinoa, lentils, chickpeas. And follow some vegan blogs and recipes. It really isnt difficult or expensive if you have a decent grocery store nearby. 💕 I have tons of easy recipes if you need them.

Advice?

Slowly making the switch to vegan.. and I just found out in pregnant... And tips on what I need to up in my diet? Lifestyle changes?

I Don't Want To Do It

I'm in a really bad situation right now. I don't have a job, my brother is the only one working right now and he's about to temporarily lose said job due to everything going on with C virus. I'm the only vegan in my entire family. My mom just informed me that the rest of the family isn't going to go crazy just to make sure I only eat vegan so either I have to give up my diet or go outside and pick grass since every store in my entire town and surrounding areas are out of literally everything! I don't want to give up being vegan and I'm almost positive you can get sick from eating grass from your yard. I can't shop online due to lack of money and not totally knowing how to use credit or debit cards, due to some health issues I can't really leave my apartment. What do I do? 💔

Sorry but as a vegan myself, I know that the diet can be pretty pricey to maintain at times. It's not really fair for them to deal with that while money is tight. Maybe you can be vegetarian for the time being? I often make that sacrifice when I'm out of town and my options are very limited. At least this way you can eat whatever they can afford to keep I the home. Or learn how to turn evey meal they make into a vegan one with very few ingredients as possible? I mean Ive turned just about every dish into a vegan one with little to nothing on hand. I know it sucks, but its just a few ideas to consider.

Your breast milk is particularly made for your baby, so there is no “abuse” here or anything unnatural here going on. The baby isn’t using you! 😂 100% vegan.

Vegan and celiac?! Recurrent miscarriages?!

So I’m 32 and I’ve had two miscarriages within 6 months and I recently got tests done to see what’s up. I just got results back...irons fine, b12 is fine, thyroids fine and other tests were fine. I still need to test progesterone after I get my period back and 20 days into my cycle. My dad has celiac so they tested me for that and turns out I have the marker for that so my doctor is thinking it’s that. I have to schedule an appointment to get a camera down my throat into my stomach which sounds terrible. They need to do a biopsy to see if I definitely have celiac and if it’s effecting my intestines. Apparently celiac disease gone untreated and undiagnosed can cause recurrent miscarriages. I’m really just looking for answers cause I want to bring a sweet soul into this world and I feel I’m one step closer to finding out why I keep miscarrying. Has anyone else gone though this or is anyone else vegan gluten free/celiac?! Honestly I feel my body is weeding out all the processes shit and returning back to what’s natural.
