Questions for doctor

I am seeing my OB today to try and get some answers. I have had three miscarriages, two of them being back-to-back. What questions and tests should I ask about today? Thank you for your help!

Progesterone 200mg with Pregnancy ?

Hello. Have anyone ever took Progesterone 200mg orally, That has a Bicornuate Uterus and had a healthy full term pregnancy? I was told my Progesterone levels were always to low in my other pregnancies and that’s what caused me to miscarry. Thank God I caught this one in time, just hoping to read some positive outcomes from similar experiences. 🙏🏾🙏🏾❤️

Bleeding after intercourse while pregnant ?

Just recently found out I was pregnant. After me and my boyfriend have sexual intercourse we always notice bleeding. It’s not a lot to soak up a pad but it’s enough to notice. I’ve also been diagnosed with a Bicornuate Uterus. Have anyone else ever had this problem and everything was ok? Thanks

Bicornuate Uterus and Cervical Cerclage ?

Have any ladies that have a Bicornuate Uterus and had multiple miscarriages had a Cervical stitch placed in their cervix to help with miscarriages during their next pregnancy and it actually helped with holding the baby?

Period After D&C

I had my second miscarriage in January. I ended up having a d&c this time (miscarried naturally last time). My period just came back a little over 4 weeks post-op. I didn’t bleed immediately after my procedure, but bled starting 3 days after for about a week or so. Fast forward to this period. It has lasted about 2 days and seems to be stopping. It started with very light spotting on the toilet paper, picked up a little bit (light bleeding) the following day, had light/moderate bleeding the next day, and today I have just had a little bit of brown spotting on the pad (blood on the toilet paper after using the restroom). Is this normal? My periods are usually moderate and last about 6 days. I don’t think I noticed much of a change after my first miscarriage. I would like to start trying again in a month or 2, but I’m afraid of not allowing my body to heal and losing another baby.

How early can you get a cervical cerclage?

Just curious on how early in pregnancy can you get a cervical cerclage put in? Have any one with a Bicornuate Uterus had this done due to multiple miscarriages? And it actually helped?

17th loss in 2.5 years-need advice please!

I just turned 36. My husband and I decided we wanted one together as he has no children of his own: I have 4 teenagers with my 1st husband. So we had a tubal reversal 9/23/2019. We’ve had 15 miscarriages and a ruptured ectopic last July (2021) that caused the removal of my 10 week fetus and my left tube as it was destroyed from the rupture. I had no idea I was pregnant. I found out I was pregnant January 9th 2022 and I was scared to death. We heard the heartbeat February 8th. A few days ago I noticed my breasts which were so painful and full and super veiney were all of the sudden barely sore, I didn’t “feel” pregnant and had a bad feeling… intuition if you will. Two days ago I started bleeding bright red. I knew. Even though we had never gotten far enough to hear a heart beat and the risks of miscarriage goes down to 1-3% at that point… I just knew. Contractions started late last night and I woke up bleeding twice last night. At 10am the pain intensified. At 1123am I instinctively pushed and delivered my daughter. We had a sneak peek done a week ago. I delivered her into my hand and could see her tiny limbs in the sac and her head with her teeny tiny eyes looked up at me. I’m so sorry for the TMI. I can’t get that image out of my head and I couldn’t just let her go down a drain. I don’t know what to do with her remains. I just can’t discard her like waste. She was ours and she was loved. She was wanted more than anything I’ve ever wanted in my entire life. I’ve never experienced a loss like this. I don’t know how to cope. My husbands afraid this may break me and cause me to go crazy… I think I’m already there. I don’t want to give up our dream of a little girl with my dark hair and his beautiful blue eyes but I don’t think I can handle another loss… we went the fertility clinic road and had testing and there’s no explanation on why…. What do we do? How do we achieve our dream? The only thing I did different this cycle is take baby aspirin after ovulation… any clue what could be the cause of so many losses? Your advice and experiences would be most helpful. Prayers light and love to everyone TTC or pregnant 💜🙏🏼💙

Successful Pregnancy After D&C?

I just had a d&c 2 weeks ago to remove remaining tissue from a MMC. Back story: this is my second miscarriage. I had a successful pregnancy that brought me a healthy baby boy in May 2020. My husband and I started trying for #2 in July 2021. I got pregnant, but found out in September that I was having and MMC. I miscarried naturally 3 days after the ultrasound. After the miscarriage we decided to try again after one cycle (per doctor’s orders). I got pregnant again in late October/early November. This pregnancy had a lot of red flags from the first ultrasound and we found out in January that we were having another MMC. I waited 8 days after the ultrasound and still hadn’t started bleeding so I tried medical management. The first dose started the bleeding, but I didn’t pass anything. I did another dose and passed the sac 24 hours later, but I still did not pass much tissue. At my follow up appointment we decided to do a d&c to remove the remaining tissue. I really want to try again, but I am so nervous about having a 3rd miscarriage. Part of me wonders if I didn’t wait long enough last time. I go to my d&c follow up next week and I plan to ask about some testing to see if there is an underlying reason for the miscarriages, but I guess I am asking for your experiences. How long did you wait to get pregnant after a d&c? Was your pregnancy successful?

I never thought I’d be here for the second time…

My first pregnancy ended in a missed miscarriage at 10 weeks. I then had my rainbow baby a couple years later. That was with my ex. My fiancé and I have been actively trying since July not really doing anything crazy and just letting it be. I figured it would happen eventually. A few weeks ago I found out I was pregnant. Now the timing for this to happen was very unfortunate to begin with due to some very serious stressful life circumstances…my fiancé cannot even be here physically for me right now. He is away…(not going into details on that) anyways, my hcg never doubled only rose twice and then dropped by 30 points. It’s always been low too. They did an ultrasound and didn’t see anything in my tubes so probably not an ectopic. Today I started spotting and now I’m lightly bleeding. I’m heartbroken. At this point, I’m praying it’s not an ectopic and I can just have a natural miscarriage but how does one even know? It’s just too much to handle. I feel so alone and I miss my fiancé 😔

Testing after reapeated miscarriages

I have had two miscarriages over four months. One was 11/9/21 (11 week blighted ovum) and the other 2/3/21 (7 week sub chorionic hemorrhage). We have been trying for 18 months. My first pregnancy was successful in 2017. I’m concerned there’s something that we might be missing. What testing did you get done to attempt to figure out what went wrong? I have a follow up with my doctor in two days so I figured I’d give this a shot and see what you all learned. Thanks in advance!

Ka

UPDATE!At my visit the doctor ordered several blood tests: Chromosome analysis TSHCardiolypin Antibody panelVitamin DVitamins B12 FolateBeta 2 Glycoprotein antibody Lupus anticoagulant profile CBC No Differential Glucose FastingWe discussed progesterone suppositories for the beginning of next pregnancy as well as further testing based on info acquired from bloodwork. She also offered to have a chromosome analysis done on my partner.

Questions about Folate

My Dr told me when I get a positive pregnancy test to start taking the 4mg of folate but why wouldn’t I start taking it before? So that it is in my system when the embryo needs it?

3rd miscarriage

So I’m currently going through my 3rd miscarriage.I have no children of my own. First miscarriage was May 2019 around 9w3d, I watched the heartbeat stop during my ultrasound. Second was August 2019 7w1d, no real reason. Third 5w3d, HCG slow to rise Progesterone stayed low at 8.8. I didn’t even tell my husband this time because honestly what’s the point if I’m just going to lose it anyways?I’m 27 and healthy, my husband has a daughter from a previous relationship. Why can’t I just carry a baby? I work at a hospital where I see people come in all the time overdosed on meth and heroin that find out they are pregnant and the carry it to term while still doing drugs. But me? I drink tons of water eat pretty dang well, and am decently active, yet I can’t even get passed 12 weeks.

Je

I have had two one at 9 and one at 12 . We have been trying for over a year now. SoDiscouraging. Hang in there. I feel 100% the same I just turned 30. I’m so healthy and workout 2-3 times a week don’t drink eat healthy…. It’s so hard… I just think what’s wrong with me. Why are some shitty people blessed when they really don’t try or want it. Why is this an issue…. my husband has no previous kids but it just SUCKS. So sorry you are going through this for a third time. Prayers, good vibes, and hugs.

5 miscarriages before 25

Including 1 ectopic which resulted in removing my left tube. I don’t know what is wrong. I have no one to relate to. No answers. I feel doctors don’t care because I am young. But I am now 25 and pregnant for the sixth time. Zero kids. How do I find someone who will actually help me figure out what’s wrong?

Am

I was in the same exact boat except not pregnant now. It took me 5 years to try again and advocate for myself this time around. I was dealing with an incompetent military doctor for my last 3 mc. Now I’m 30 and we are in the first cycle of trying again. Once my thyroid is back down below 3 they are giving me progesterone right away. I highly recommend pushing for a referral to a reproductive endocrinologist. Or at least additional testing. Don’t let them tell you it’s normal (I have had this said to me). It is not. There are reasons majority of the time besides just unexplained recurrent miscarriages and they have options to help you figure out what it is. There can be many factors. For me it was my thyroid, antiphospholipid syndrome (but I miscarried too early for this to be the cause), and MTHFR mutations. The biggest thing was my thyroid. I also pushed so freaking hard last 2 times I was pregnant to get my progesterone tested and they flat out refused. Now I’m dealing with the VA and as soon as my primary said she thought I could successfully carry I asked for referrals to a fertility specialist and they also referred me to a maternal fetal medicine doctor. While she can be kind of crazy at times she is so supportive and takes my own research into consideration. She knows if I come to her with something there’s a reason because I HATE being there. I’ve had very traumatic experiences with medical and she is very kind with some wonky approaches sometimes. Things they tested and have done for me are: - HSG X-ray while dye is pushed through uterus and tubes. one of mine was ectopic. Got to keep my tube luckily- SIS ultrasound version of HSG - FHS blood test - TSH for thyroid- t3 and t4 for thyroid- aps antibodies blood test- amh - karyotyping for me and hubs to ensure no balance translocation or issues with chromosomes from either of us. Some of these you may be able to order yourself through modern fertility (amh, fish, and TSH) there are others but I don’t remember what they were off the top of my head. I did that recently cause it was on sale. You 100% have to push for things yourself. If they push back ask for specific documentation on why they are recommending what they are and for it to be noted in your chart including reasoning. Also use patient advocacy every office has one or should have one. Make them tell you why they are or are not doing something.

Healthy Pregnancy after Recurrent Miscarriage

I’ve had two missed miscarriages within the last year in a half at about 9 weeks both times the heartbeat stopped, one that we know for sure was due to a random chromosomal abnormality (Turners) due to testing. Has anyone had a similar experience and gone on to have a healthy pregnancy naturally? I’m so nervous maybe it’s just not meant to be for us naturally.

Has anyone had Metroplasty surgery to correct their Bicornuate Uterus and it actually helped them from having early miscarriages ?

Has anyone ever went through with having surgery to correct their Bicornuate Uterus with Metroplasty Surgery and had successfull pregnancies afterwards. I’ve had 6 early miscarriages and two GYNs have told me my Uterus is the cause of this, but I’ve seen ladies on here and other sites have successful pregnancies with the same type of Uterus. I really don’t wanna have surgery on my Uterus as I’ve read negative review about this surgery as well. Just really trying to see if I’m doing something wrong or what? 😔 I was also told with the type of Uterus I have many women are placed on Progesterone Pills due to the Uterus not producing enough during pregnancy. All this is just so overwhelming and confusing. Any stories of ladies similar to me and what they did differently during a successful pregnancy they finally had would greatly help and I would really appreciate it! ❤️😔

History of recurrent miscarriages…. Finally found a dr to help.

I have a history of recurrent miscarriages and an ecoptic pregnancy. I have had a really hard time finding a dr to do check into my fertility. I live a really rural area which makes things difficult. The dr ordered a HSG, ultrasound ,an Antiphospholipid test, thyroid and a bunch of other blood work. I was really excited to find a dr that cares but now that’s it’s getting closer to test dates I am super nervous 😬 A little back story my husband and I have 1 handsome little boy who is 2 but before we had him I had a missed miscarriage and then 2 early miscarriages. Then we had our son. It was not an easy pregnancy at all. I have severe preeclampsia and he was delivered early. When he was a year and a half I got pregnant and it was ectopic and that was super difficult. Since then I’ve had 2 more early miscarriages and 2 chemical pregnancy’s.

Pregnancy and Miscarriages

If you’re having a miscarriage, will you bleed until everything is out of you and your HCG levels drop to a 0?

15dpiui after RPL- need opinions

Ok. So long story short I took a test 7-9dpiui, 8-10dpt and my trigger was still in my system so I stopped testing. I then took a test in the afternoon on 13dpiui (top test) on 14 dpIUI (middle test) I had a beta, and it was only 37 🥺, so I took another test this morning hoping it would be obviously darker or lighter and it’s faintly lighter. Do you think this is a chemical pregnancy? Or do you think the trigger could’ve made my 13dpiui test falsely darker? Has anyone ever had this variability in their first response and it be ok?
