Need help!

Ladies! I need help finding a venue North Georgia with wisteria, willow trees, or live oaks with dripping Spanish moss! I have a feeling I wont have any luck finding Spanish moss in North GA only South 😞

I’m not too sure about areas in Georgia that suit what you’re looking for but you can always DIY your wedding to accommodate what you’ve imagined for your wedding. Many sites sell wisteria (artificial) that you could use to add whatever touches you desire to your wedding. I’ve never looked up the other trees with dangling branches but I’m a BIG DIY geek and have found soooooo many options to make all my visions come through for my upcoming wedding.

First Look

My now husband wanted to see me for the first time coming down the aisle, so I did a first look with my dad and brothers. Who else did a first look? Post pics.

Got engaged 8/10/2016 and married 2/9/2020. We originally planned for 7/29/2018 but then hurricane Harvey happened.

How to afford everything??

Hey everyone, so my fiancé and I just decided on a wedding date (10/15/22)!!! And we are SUPER excited!!! But we’re also SO stressed. We both start teaching next year and will be teaching when we have our wedding. And I don’t know how we’re going to be able to afford and do anything. We already have some money save up but our budget is absolutely no more than $12,000. Which I understand is pretty doable since we will have 120 or less guests. But the problem is where we’re in our senior year of college right now and we’ll both be teaching when we do get married, we feel like we need a wedding planner. And we’re super stressed about being able to afford one + everything else!!Also, we just have no idea where to start with planning and are already overwhelmed. If you know of some great websites (besides WeddingWire and The Knot) to find wedding planners or have some you recommend please comment!!! Also, PLEASE give some advice!! We could use all the help we can get!! Thank you all!!! :)

We had a colour scheme and theme in iur head first and definitely venue shopped first! We already knew what church but we needed a reception venue to that's what we did first. Then booked the DJ, Photographer, car hire, things like that. I'm growing my own flowers so that's saving me a fortune and has a special touch! But will but bouquets from the store if I need extraI did the dress shopping shortly after the engagement to get an idea of what I liked to vision the day more and suits then the bridesmaids etc. I made our own save the dates but now I'll just buy them for the new dates etcKeep shopping around and don't buy the first thing you'll see! I was planning my wedding on a 8 month scale then the pandemic made us push it until next year to sit around and do nothing 😂

Ruined ruined totally ruined 🤦🏻‍♀️

So I got engaged last year in March and we had planned to have our wedding this October , things happened within my family that we weren’t expecting and then our relationship took a hit and we cancelled. Luckily our venue was willing to work with us to change the date once we realized we want to be together and get married , we’ve given almost 4,000 for the venue. In March we were supposed to go and change the dates but that’s when we got shut down because of COVID. Then we find out in June that the person who was renting out the ballroom lost it since she couldn’t pay the rent. Now even though she agreed to allow us to change the date she turned it around stating we cancelled and she isn’t going to refund any of our money. It’s our fault for even canceling in the first place but WTF!! I’m lost and we’ve been attempting to work this out, we’re planning on a wedding for November but our finances have been affected. We’re lost and I need ideas 😣💔

Have you consulted legal advice for the venue? It’s not your fault she lost the venue and everyone that had a scheduled event and already began paying should receive their money back. I’m pretty sure your contract didn’t state if she lost the venue that you couldn’t receive your money back so I’d fight tooth and nail. Weddings can be very expensive and it’s hard when you feel you’re constantly hit with downfalls when it’s supposed to be a happy occasion. I’d would also try seeking help from friends and family like a DIY party to help cut costs on invites or decor. Maybe someone close to you knows someone that may cut a deal on dj services, cakes etc. I know it’s hard but hang in there.

I found my dress today!!!

Wedding Stress

Ladies did you ever get or currently have nightmares about your wedding? Like over stressing about the final details and worrying and it causes you to have bad dreams about everything that could possibly go wrong? So far I've had two, one of them being just last night and it kept me from going back to sleep

I was supposed to be getting married this year but covid has put a damper on that so we’ve changed our date to 2021. I’ve had 2 nightmares so far about my wedding day and they were awful. In one dream the venue wasn’t the venue I paid for, nothing was right. I didn’t have dresses for my bridal party and forgot to order a cake. My second nightmare again wasn’t the venue I paid for but the reception area was like a closet with the person’s personal items stacked in the room. My bridal party decided not to wear their dresses and no one would help me to set up the reception area. My husband even left the building saying he had to go to work. It was awful

Need Advice - Postponed Wedding

Me and my fiancé were supposed to get married October of 2018, then I got pregnant and we decided to postpone it. We’re now starting to plan again, probably for late next year depending on how covid continues. My question is - some girls in my original wedding party and I have really lost touch (so much so that one got married yesterday and we weren’t invited - not meant to sound salty at all, I’m super happy for them, just trying to give context) and I’m wondering if it’s rude to “condense” my wedding party now?

One of my old friends got engaged while we were in college and I was set to be a bridesmaid..they ended up being engaged for almost 10 years when they finally got married. We don't talk that much anymore so I didn't expect to still be in the wedding but I was invited and did attend. Have the people you are close with and want in your wedding.

Wedding HELP!

Hi! I am planning my wedding but I have actually never been to a wedding let alone planned one 😅 I have no idea how a wedding works, the order of things, what I need, or anything. For example of how clueless I am, Do I wear my engagement ring and then we put on the wedding bands for the ring portion of the ceremony? Or do I take it off? I just have so many questions. Id be so grateful if so someone could help me. I can even give you my phone number so it would be easier to communicate. Thanks in advance to anyone willing to help me!!!

I planned mine even though I also had no idea what to do lol. First decide your budget, then where and when you want it. Try to book ASAP if you're using a venue, they sell out fast, most people will tell you to get one about 2 years before the actual date. Don't worry if you're not gonna be engaged that long, there are plenty of places that'll book you within a year.Pinterest was a lot of help for me when it came to activities and the programAnd funny story: You always want your wedding band first on your finger, my best friend actually put my engagement ring in her bra until the ceremony was over because none of our dresses had pockets 😂

Elopement Trial Makeup ! Before/Afters

Wedding guest book - drop box

I’m planning a wedding and I really want a non traditional guest book. I really like the idea of the heart drop box. We are going to have 150 guests and all of the boxes I’ve found only accommodate around 70 hearts. I could buy two, but they are somewhere around $40. Does anyone have any recommendations on a decent priced big drop box? Or how I could make my own? If I can’t find one, would I looks silly if I had people drop the hearts into a jar instead?

I like the idea! I would advise either doing one big one or a jar, since in my opinion, doing 2 is odd. Maybe you can find someone who makes them on Etsy or similar and custom order a larger one?

To cut a family member or not

Has anyone had to tell a family member that they aren’t allowed to come to the wedding? I’m honestly at the point of telling my father I don’t want him there. 😭💔 and it is breaking my heart it’s only 10 ppl at the wedding and 20 at my reception. I’m only having. A reception because I really want a first dance and a daddy daughter dance. But with masks being required my father is refusing. Also there’s no alcohol allowed at my venue. He’s saying he will sneak it in. Not to go to deep into my family’s relationships let’s just say everyone is divorced and has a rocky relationship with each other. My dad and step mother who’s separated... won’t text me back. Like at all. If they do it’s to argue or complain about the other adult. I have told everyone in my family there is no fighting it’s MY DAY. I will pull that card all day if I have to. But even my FH asked if it was worth it. He sees me stressed and I have called him crying so much lately because of it. This is now how I pictured my wedding planning would go. Also my sisters I have through my step mom are my mini bridesmaids. I’m lost I don’t know what to do....

Have been having issues with family since COVID was at its peak. Some of them will be finding out that they’re only invited to the ceremony and not the reception. The awkward thing is that both events are held at one venue. If your family can’t respect you and the rules for your day then they don’t deserve he privilege of being there for it. I won’t be accepting anything other than what I’ve made very clear is to be expected; it’s one day, a few hours at most.

Wedding pictures

Taking wedding pictures tomorrow! How do you decide what to do with your hair?? Up, down ? It’s such a hard choice!

late night weddings?

has anyone done late night weddings? i've heard a few people say they're doing their ceremonies at about 6pm and then not doing a dinner. we're doing a very small wedding and we're trying to keep it budget friendly. we're also planning on doing a quick and simple ceremony thoughts?

I've seen late night, midday, and early mornings. Honestly, it's up to you. If you want to keep it small, a late night ceremony could be a good way to do that

Wedding in October ?

So I’m getting married in October and we had invited close to 85-90 people and I need some advise since this coronavirus has been getting worse I was wondering if we should still do the reception with all these people we invited or just do the wedding with no reception?
