Sleep regression

Anyone going through a sleep regression? Idk if it’s the age or the fact that I just brought a new baby home last week, but my son is being absolutely terrible. He is standing in his crib screaming for an hour bc he doesn’t want to go to bed. He’s also waking multiple times a night and wanting to get out and play. What should we do?

Could be both. There is a sleep regression at 2 (my daughter hit it early just like she did all of the others). We also had some bad nights in the first month after bringing home my second daughter. Just stick with your routines, keep naptimes even if they won’t actually nap, and keep everything as consistent as you can and it’ll passs soon!

Tantrums

My 22 month old girl has started this thing of throwing herself on the ground and cries because she didn't get her way, or when I stop her from doing something. It's becoming so annoying cause I'm scared it will happen in public and I'll just lose it😑. Please is anyone experiencing these type of Tantrums?

Yep my son does it all the time and runs into cupboards or whatever when he doesn’t get his way lol he did it yesterday in public for the first time and I literally just gave him baby shark too watch on the floor and just laughed. No point stressing over others looking at you, as long as your babies okay that’s the main thing.

Baby #2

Anyone else finding it hard to fall pregnant with baby number 2? We have been trying since August last year, had a miscarriage in November and a chemical in December😩

Er

I’m on cycle 6 month 5 of trying for baby 2 and after getting my period today had to take an early lunch so I could cry in my car in the parking lot at work. It only took two cycles with my daughter so we assumed it would happen quickly again. This TTC thing is rough.

Potty training

Any moms that have already potty trained there littles.. what do you do when you are not in the house? Not sure how to go about using public restrooms/in the car. Any advise or tips are appreciated 🙂

My son potty trained about 3 months ago. Once the diapers were gone they were gone for good. I keep a potty chair in the car and would pull over if needed or I would take him potty before we went in if it had been awhile. He uses the potty chair and the adult toilet interchangeably so going in public was never an issue. If you haven’t had her use the big potty at home yet, I would do it a few times to help her be more comfortable when you’re out and about.

We had a big party for her first birthday so I think this year we will just take her to a bounce house place.

Please help me with tantrums!

I need all the advice! My 22m old is a wreck lately. Every little thing sets him off. He will cry and lay and the floor and scream. He will hit and throw crap. I’m at a loss. I try to talk him through it calmly. But when that fails I just walk away and let him scream. But that can last for who knows how long. Today, it was a huge fight getting him in the car seat. Arching his back, crying and etc. I had to get him to preschool in time so I wasn’t late for work. It was a huge fight which ended in a meltdown for both of us. I’m trying to not lose my cool but some days I get so frustrated and at my wits end with the tantrums and fighting me to get in the car seat. I need advice and books on how to deal with this phase. He’s awful at church. And I feel like such a crappy mom for getting frustrated at him and myself.

We just let my son cry when he’s having a tantrum for no/silly reason. He’s realized that he doesn’t get anything out of it and it only lasts like 2 minutes. For the car, we always have toys that stay in the car for him. So we entice him to go to play with a toy or a special snack.

Sleep issues?

Any one elses baby having issues sleeping? I did all the work over a year ago to sleep train my daughter and she has been successfully putting herself to sleep in her own room for well over a year now and all of a sudden this week she will not fall asleep without a fight. Begging one of us to stay with her or running out of her room to ours. Seems like she is scared of her room all of a sudden and idk what to do? I will take any advice or suggestions you momma's have. It's driving me insane not having my quiet time while she is falling asleep and to have to fight to keep her in bed with out just cuddling up to her or bringing her in my room and ruining all my hard work of sleep training 😭

I know we hear this all the time but I’m sure it’s just a phase. Consistency is key so I would suggest keeping to your routine or the routine you want her to have. Don’t start giving in, even though sometimes that’s just easier. Every time she gets out of bed I would pick her up, take her back to her room and say it’s time to go to sleep, I love you and nothing else. Don’t give her attention or she’ll just keep doing it.

Boy or girl

Any guesses weather it's a boy or girl?

Boy

Am I the only one?

I feel like I’m the only one who feels this way. But I do not like the toddler phase at all. And I’m barely in it. I don’t look forward to my day with my son. It’s tantrums and throwing crap all day long. Refusing to sleep at night or take a nap during the day. I felt like he used to be pretty easy. He’s so active. He has to climb and touch everything and I just don’t enjoy going out with him. It makes things so much more difficult. He has the attention span of a gnat and I’m slowly loosing my mind. We had a funeral and he kept trying to run through the graveyard and towards the pond. It was embarrassing. I felt like I kept getting stares from people. Then he was fighting me so bad when I was putting him in his car seat to leave. Like tantrum, arching his back, turning red in the face. I’m mentally drained every day. I’m starting to think I’m crazy for wanting another baby. My patience is so thin with the one I have now. I’m just really struggling and not enjoying this phase and I feel like I’m the only one

Time to address the negative moments with implementation of some system for behavior modification. Toddlerhood is the time in which we begin to learn boundaries & limitations- outcomes & expectations. Get a sticker board, points board, or white board— and start being insanely predictable with rewards & consequences.

Im so sorry you’re going through this. My son got the flu in January. It was awful. Just keep fluids going. Offer food but they may not eat. Tylenol, pedialyte pops, juice, and snacks. It’s a few days of torture but then it gets better. Make sure you sanitize everything too. Hoping baby has a speedy recovery!

Sucks.

Was pregnant with #2 when I just found yesterday there was no heartbeat. I was spotting for 2 weeks and had med bleeding and clotting last week went to the hospital and everything was fine than. Than yesterday my doctor seemed worried about that hospital visit and did a ultrasound even though I wasn’t there for that. He said I was mesuring 2 or 3 days off so the baby just died 2 or 3 days before. This is my first miscarriage. And you all where there through my 1st pregnancy with my son, so I felt more comfortable saying it on this group. I was so excited for my son to have a young sibling, but when the spotting started I knew something was wrong because I never had that with my son. So I kept trying to prepare for the pain, but this pain I wasn’t prepared for still. But Im still trying to hold my head up high for my little boy and my boyfriend.

Miscarriages are horrible to go through, after having 2 I know that there’s nothing you can say to make it better. Just surround yourself with people who love you and it will get better x

Baby number 2 on the way

We are beyond blessed. We had our first child through IVF and tried again this summer for number 2 but it was not successful. I am 2 weeks late and just had some bloodwork done. I am 6 weeks pregnant!

Congratulations! What a beautiful news! When are you due?

Dehydration

My daughter has had a cold since the day after Christmas no big deal I had it to so we were dealing. Well over this past weekend I noted low diaper counts both Saturday and Sunday monday I monitored very close all day and even with full access to anything to drink (even juice which she has never been offered) she had 2 wet diapers that were hardly even wet between 10am when she woke till 7pm when husband got home. At that point we took her in because we knew it had been to long without enough output. In the ER they were not concerned about the diaper output but the cough. Lungs sounded clear but still prescribed antibiotics for 5 days and said if she isnt better by monday to take her into see her normal pediatrician. Problem is we leave for vacation in Florida Monday night. Monday day her pediatrician has no openings even her normal few that she keeps for emergencies are booked due to her being family medicine she has moms scheduled for c sections. Her cough is slightly better but her diaper output is still only around 3 and very light. I can take her into walk in twmr were are pediatrician is the doctor on duty. I'm just looking for advice I dont want to get worse while we are out of town. But I also dont want to go in for a cold. Noone seems to be worried about her diapers because she is still really active but i know kids can act ok until they arnt and going somewhere so warm could be that tipping point. Am i worrying to much about the low diaper out put? She is 21 months if that matters.

Started potty training my April baby in December. We did the oh crap method and she picked it up pretty fast. The first two days are the hardest.

My baby is growing up!

Tonight is not only his first night in a bid boy bed, but it’s also his first night sharing a room with his older brother. Surprisingly bedtime went almost too smoothly and they were both dead to the world when I checked on them a few min ago. Getting the second room ready for baby #3!

Thought I'd update for fun... this will be my announcement on Valentine's day! So excited, I also sent a single picture wrapped in a valentine heart out to my extended family to announce to them first.

Early terrible twos??

Are the terrible twos hitting anyone else’s April babe early??? She has SUCH big emotions lately. Crying fits for no reason. Literally a sour patch kid (sour and then sweet a minute later). She’s been a very even tempered, calm child from the beginning. So this is very out of the norm for her.

I think we have decided on doing a 'two sweet' theme for my daughter. She loves donuts so that's probably going to be the theme
