Mother in law

So my mil believes I should not be mad at her for tell my daughter she is autistic just because my daughter does not want to look at her. She goes oh yeah you are 100% autistic. Even if my daughter was which to me she’s still my daughter I would love her no matter what but if she was not medically diagnosed with it do not coach her that she is autistic. She looks at at everyone else in there eyes unless she’s having a fun time and playing. Am I wrong for not letting her see my daughter? Everytime I do she thinks my daughter is hers and will not let me hold my child when my child wants me..

Omg that’s hella messed up. My MIL says “oh your baby doesn’t love me” because he cries EVERY TIME she even looks at him. My baby is 7 months old and really doesn’t like her. She speaks Spanish and she is just a loud talker and talks really fast. I think she overwhelms him.

My sweet boy..

I've been having a rough week.. This evening I cried infront of my boy. He came running to me, threw his dummy on the floor, held his arms up to me to pick him up. When I did, he gave me a kiss. Something I usually have to ask him for! He's never just come and given me a kiss before 🥺. Naturally it made me cry harder, but at least now I was smiling and hugging him. He's such a sweet boy, I don't know what I did to deserve him..

How’s everyone’s August babies?

It’s been about 16 months since our babes were born, how’s everyone doing? What kind of things do your babes like to do?My son was born Aug 5th, he still only says momma, he’s finally coming out of his insanely picky eating stage, he has an obsession with playing with hangers, he hates his sleeves touching his palms and hates the snow. He also refuses to wear shoes and tolerates socks lmao We also just welcomed our second last month, he doesn’t acknowledge her😂

Bad rash

My son went to the dr Wednesday with high fever, cough, runny nose, & tugging at ear. He would eat anything either. Strep & flu negative, dr said he had ear infection. He started on amoxicillin Wednesday night, Friday he is covered in a rash head to toe. He is completely miserable & whiny. He won’t hardly eat & has a wet cough. No fever though. Does this rash look like an allergic reaction? Calling dr first thing Monday morning. Our urgent care doesn’t see kids under 2

My daughter had this when she took a antibiotic called sulfa .

Feeling sad 😞

I’m due in about 2 weeks with baby #2 so my daughter and the new baby will be about 16 months apart. I would tell my daughter she is going to have a sister and show her my stomach but I know she is still small and doesn’t quite understand fully. I’m just feeling sad thinking about when we bring new baby home how my daughter will react. Sometimes I get emotional thinking about what if she gets sad or jealous 😭😭😭 I even start to cry thinking about leaving her for when it’s time to give birth since I never have been away from her like that 🥺

I was in your spot the past few months! My babes are 15 months apart. My water broke at 37 weeks before my scheduled c section, I was tearing up because I didn’t get to say goodbye to my son because I knew I’d be at the hospital for a few days & my son had never slept a night away from me or had been babysat for more than 4 hours so I reallllyyyy struggled with my anxiety over him being separated and then his jealousy. I knew our routine would be interrupted and it would be tough. I’m 4 weeks in now, my daughter has bad reflux and is up allnight & my 16 month old is teething his molars and going through leap 10 so everything makes him cry. It’s tough right now, it’ll only get better with time & I have my son a little sister who’s so close in age. They’ll grow up together and I’m so happy about that

Coughing

Our 1 year old is just coughing at night. It disturbs my husband but of course I sleep through it. We’ve brought it up to his pediatrician at every appointment and they suggested we elevate his crib but it doesn’t seem to be helping. We have another appointment Friday but don’t think they will do anything else since my son sleeps through it. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks!

Too cute!!

Night wakings

It’s been a few nights and my baby boy wakes up around midnight and refuses to go back to sleep and wants us to get him out of the crib. He will cry and scream . It seems like a sleep regression but it’s never been this bad. I just can’t get him to go back to sleep or stay in his crib. Is this a phase ? Or is anyone else experiencing the same issue ?

Molars cause a lot of pain. Is he teething?

Talking

What words do your babies know? Did you do anything in particular to help them learn? Trying to get my son to learn more words

My child is very advanced in all other areas but only says a few words. Children develop at their own pace and no child is advanced at every single thing.

Walking

Anyone’s little one not really walking yet? He just turned 15 months (born August 31) and he still prefers crawling lol He does cruise along things and does let go. If my husband and I place him between us he will walk to us but that’s about it. I’m starting to get worried. I feel like he can do it but doesn’t want to 😂

My girl was born on Aug 30th and literally just started walking by herself thanksgiving week. She would walk holding our hands and cruising the furniture but if we let go she would crawl. She also would prefer to crawl because she could get there so much faster. She just decided to start walking. 🤷🏼‍♀️ I honestly don’t know what changed but wanted to let you know we were in the same boat.

Eating

Hi Mom's!I need advice on how to handle a picky eater. My 16 month old eats well but he has about 4 things he eats. I have tried a lot of exposure, giving him a plate of food with something he likes along with new things, I have even tried hiding things in stuff he likes. I also try to make sure I don't pressure him and stay patient. It has gotten to the point where daycare has asked us to send something in because he won't eat anything they give. Sometimes he will try things but spit them out, other times he takes one look at it and acts like I'm trying to poison him and throws it off his tray lol. It seems like a pattern after waiting 30 minutes hoping he will eat something I resort to giving him what he wants because I figure he has to eat right?Any advice is much appreciated!!

I don’t know if you have looked into Solidstarts on Instagram yet but they have a lot of helpful tips they also have an app and the founder has a severely picky eater so maybe it’ll help

Extra whiny and clingy

My girl has becomes so clingy and whiny. I love the cuddles but it’s becoming uncontrollable. I can’t cook, wash dishes, or anything. This just started and she’s 16 months. Is anyone else’s little one like this?

My little guy gets like this when he’s teething. No one but mom will do.

Diarrhea

My 15 month old boy has been having diarrhea since his vaccines a few days ago. I was wondering if anyone has experienced that and have you given your baby anything for their diarrhea ?

I don’t really give anything for diarrhea, I just apply Desitin religiously and make sure to change immediately upon a poop. I read somewhere you can give Imodium. I haven’t done that, but if you’re interested, please speak to your child’s pediatrician.

Multivitamin?

Are you giving your baby a multivitamin?

No, he just has vitamin D drops. We live in the UK and the sunlight here isn’t enough for what we need. I think as long as your baby eats a varied diet they shouldn’t need a vitamin

Had my IUD removed today…

We’re not going to actively try to get pregnant, we might even kind of try to avoid it, I just feel like my body was not liking the fake hormones. But we’re definitely ok if we do get pregnant again. My question is for those of you that had an IUD and had it removed, how long was it until you ovulated? I’m not sure if I should just start doing ovulation tests now to try to get a handle on my cycle again or if I should wait a bit? I know everyone is different, just looking for some personal experiences 😁 TIA!

You can ovulate immediately or it could take monthsm..be careful to not get pregnant. You're at increased risk of miscarriage for a few months following BC. Best of luck!

Flu shot

If you’ve done the flu shot, did your baby have trouble sleeping as a reaction? Mine won’t settle, went to sleep at 1am after screaming for hours and it’s now 6 and she’s having a hard time again. Please don’t turn this into a “you shouldn’t have vaccinated” post. I believe in it. Im just looking for others who do too, and might have experienced this.

My daughter slept like a rock during her nap but was fussy overnight. This is her second year getting one ( she got her shot plus booster last winter). She usually spikes a small fever after every round of vaccines so I usually push water, apple sauce and give a small dose of tylenol before bed. Sometimes I think she just wants some cuddles and love after the “trauma” of the day. She’s 1000% fine but milking the attention 😂

Getting rid of night time bottle

We have been putting off getting rid of the before bed bottle (whole milk) I know we should Bc it’s bad for their teeth etc. she doesn’t fallAsleep eating it and sometimes doesn’t want all of it. Should I just try not giving it cold turkey?

I’m dreading it too so I haven’t tried yet!!

Dentist

So we haven't taken ours in to the dentist yet. Finally asked pediatrician if we should be and she said it's not necessary until almost three years old! Everything I've read is one year or 6 months after first tooth. Anybody else directed to wait?

Pediatric Hygienist here 🙋🏼‍♀️ They should go at 1. I have no clue why pediatricians say that. We hear it all the time! If you have a pediatric dental office near you I would definitely recommend that! You’ll get so much helpful knowledge about oral hygiene and diet!

15 month old not going back to sleep 😖

Ever since daylight savings my daughter wakes up at 2am and won’t go back to sleep until 4-5am then is up at for the day at 7:30am. She isn’t teething right now so I literally have no idea why she keeps doing this. I’m 35 weeks pregnant sooooo I already can’t sleep as is so this can be a little frustrating 🥲 any advice or atleast anyone else going through this so I know I’m not alone.

This is my daughter we went from two wake ups to a 2-3 hour rave 😑

Why is my 15 month old waking at night?

My little boy use to sleep through and be a good sleeper from the age of 11 month and now he is waking at different times of the night and refusing to go back to sleep. He would scream everytime we put him back into bed. I've been back at work for half a year now so I'm sure you understand how difficult it is for our family at the moment. Any advice on what it is please? Tia
