Be careful with Zarbees because of the honey. Children under 1 shouldn’t have honey.

Uh oh

So I could hear some banging coming from my daughter’s room after my husband put her to bed. I went upstairs, opened her door, and saw this:I guess our plan to drop her mattress tomorrow is moot

So they say to treat the baby not the temp. A temperature is a temperature regardless of whether its at say 39 or 42. You should treat the cause of the temp because a temp itself is a bodies natural response to fighting something. So basically if baby seems super poorly and you feel like they need to be seen by a doctor right now then yes, but if its just for the temperature I'd wait it out. Hope they feel better soon 💜

Frida also sells a baby version of vaporub. I think that helped by daughter a bit.

Wake Window at 2am..Help!!

Anyone else have trouble with their LO wanting to wake up at 1 or 2 am and not wanting to go back to sleep for hours? Any other time we get up through the night LO will nurse and go back to sleep fairly easy, but for some reason it's like 2am is time to get up?? She's almost 7 months and we just got out of a sleep regression. We stick to the same bedtime routine and always go to bed at 7, except some weekend occassions. Is there a trick to help her go back to sleep? 🤔Sincerely, Tired Mama 😴

Update**We are sleeping again! We finally decided to sleep train, to help her fall back asleep on her own and it has helped immensely. We still have rough nights here and there of course, ya know with teething, etc. But getting much better! I make sure to lay her down still awake and let her go to sleep. If she cries i will go back in to sooth her every 5-10mins and usually she's asleep in no later than 20 mins. Then i typically try to make sure that if she wakes after that i do the same thing, not picking her up but letting her go back to sleep on her own. Till the early 3-4am feeding anyway, then i let her feed and put her back to bed again. For anyone that's curious 😉 Good luck mommas!

Weight gain after pregnancy

Hi mamas I'm curious if anyone else is in this situation or could give insightWhen I got pregnant I was about 175lbI got up to 188lb when I deliveredI lost the weight pretty fast, by 5 weeks pp I was down to 160lbI started having postpartum anxiety and my doctor put me on lexapro in may. I think I started gaining weight around that point. Now I'm 190lb. I hate my body! I don't understand how I've gained so much wait in such a short time.I haven't changed anything other then the medication. Has anyone else experienced this with lexapro? Or is this something that happens after baby ?

There are other SNRIs/SSRIs that don’t have the same weight gain profile. If you aren’t already, I’d suggest adding therapy to your anxiety treatment. It usually doesn’t have weight gain as a side effect 😉

Oh baby!! #2 coming!

My husband decided to try thinking it might take a few months. Lol. It happened our first try. 😂 Kinda scared and happy. Especially with a 7 month old!

We do combo purée and BLW. I also follow Solid Starts, which is very helpful in educating the difference between gagging and choking. They also give portion sizes by age range. My daughter has done great with it!

7 months old already???

Time is flying by 🥺 share your baby pics mamas ❤️

Toy suggestion please

I am having a real hard time picking out toys that my 7m old will actually play. No matter how many things I put in front of him all he want is chewing cables and tissue paper.

My babygirl likes boxes, green/red/pink bottles, and paper plates. A lot. Like why do I even get her toys.

Crawling

My 6mo is finally crawling. He’s getting himself into everything. What recommendations do yall have for things we absolutely need for baby proofing the house? I was thinking of getting a crawling foam mat for our hardwood floor and/or a play pen so he’s not trying to crawl everywhere and wack his head on the coffee table or cabinets. Do you recommend? What else? Help! We are newbies and need to know what’s working for everyone else!

We got a modular playpen that stretches along our whole livingroom blocking the TV, computer, and coffee table.

Ferber sleep training

Hi mamas who used Ferber! Sunday night we started sleep training our 6.5 month old (doing it for naps too) first 2 nights and days he did amazing we couldn’t believe how well he did but since the 3rd day/night his sleeps have been kinda crap and very restless, super short naps. Is this all normal? Does it go back and forth for a bit? Thx

Yep! Consistency is key, it’ll work out. Good luck!

Bottle strike - help!

My son now hates his bottle! He was exclusively breast fed until 4 months when I went back to work, then mixed fed until he started refusing the breast at 6 months. Now he is refusing the bottle too at 7 months. He has not gained any weight in the last month. We’ve tried all the tricks to get milk into him, but all he wants is food. Solids are not enough to support him (he really just plays with it). My first child was boob obsessed, so we never had this problem. Seems like my son is just too interested in the world to sit and have a bottle. Any suggestions? Help!

Are you putting breast milk into the food? Did you try sippy cup? Try putting it in a regular cup or spoon feeding the milk to him and treating it as if it’s food. Idk if any of this will be helpful but I would try!

Struggling with fast flow teat

Hi has anyone else been struggling with getting there wee one to take the fast flow teat. We're using mam bottles and she just over 6 months. Sometimes she is fine with the medium flow, but sometimes it feels like she ready for the fast flow but she seems to not like the fast flow. Any tips on how to help her take the next size teat.

We’re exactly the same with the mam teats. We’re using no.2 at nearly 7 months as she just refuses the 3 but don’t suppose it’s doing her any harm!

Teething

My daughter will be 8 months on the 15th and her teeth haven’t come in yet. Should I be concerned? She’s showing all the signs of teething as far as drooling. She’s very healthy. She’s even began saying mama and dada

my baby had covid at 5 months. she was fine. many doctors told me kids don’t really have it as bad as adults could have it. actually my 5 month old and 1year old both had it including myself and we were all fine. baby will be ok just monitor them. sending positive love hope they feel better soon!
