Help: crippling depression

My whole pregnancy has been great physically. Emotionally it’s been horrible. The father is a narcissist. My parents inserting their two cents trying me to get me to make decisions based on what they think is right. His side of the family thinks I’m crazy because I’m severely depressed after experiencing 7 months of emotional and some physical abuse from him. I am having a hard time controlling the way I react to his manipulation now. I haven’t eaten in two days and I just wish someone could make this pain all go away. It’s getting so bad that I’m considering adoption now because the life that my son will have won’t be good with a narcissistic father. Being pregnant and single is the hardest thing I’ve ever done. I’m so depressed. Should I consider adoption even while I’m in this state of mind?

I feel this on a personal level. I decided to talk to my doctor at my next appointment about depression meds. We will get through this and if you need anything I’m willing to listen. Narcissists are really hard to deal with right now. I’ve decided to not react to his manipulation. It’s working wonders though.

25W extreme pain near belly button?

Hello all, I’m 25 W today and have a hernia from the pregnancy with my son two years ago. Today out of no where I started better extreme pain near my belly button and about 3 inches outward in all directions. Baby’s movement is still normal and I can feel her kicks etc. Any ideas what it could be or if I should see a doctor?

This has happened to me as well. Eventually baby moved down a bit and it subsided but it is still tender to touch it. I had it with my first but not as painful! The doc said if I can’t push it back in then to be more concerned…pushing it hurts but it does go back in.

Prolapse ?

I think its called prolapse! When i use the bathroom and clean myself i feel some skin hanging out . 😬 its not Painful or doesnt feel uncomfortable. But i just feel like when i touch it.. That too its there sometimes🤷🏻‍♀️ i guess when i sit on the toilet for longer. Any tips? Hopefully not dangerous Inn Shaa Allah 😭💖🥰#Pregnancy26Weeks

Is probably have them take a look at your next appointment. Could be an hemorrhoid, like others have said! If it is a prolapse, a common way to fix this is pouring sugar on the area and it will pull back in. Sounds weird but it works. But without knowing what it is for sure, definitely wouldn’t try sugar (won’t do you any good on a hemorrhoid!)

27 week and low backache that’s been happening for about week

I’ve been having a low back ache on and off on the right side for about a week. I’m worried because when I search it I see all kinds of things about preterm labor. Has anyone else experienced this?

Low back pain can be a sign of preterm labor but it also could just be sore from adjusting to your growing baby. I'm also 27 weeks and my lower back on both sides seems to be getting sore. It feels better when I stretch for a while and have my husband give me a massage. Make sure to drink lots of water.

Heartburns

I’m currently 27 weeks and a first time mom, I have been having really bad heartburns these past weeks. I have been taking tums which have helped me a bit, any other recommendations for heartburns ?

I finally called my doctor . It was a week straight with no relief :/ I hope it gets better for you, I tried tuna and milk and wasn’t getting anywhere

Stressed

My doctor had a heart attack Friday I have 13 weeks before my due date. They haven't rescheduled my appointment on Tuesday so I guess they are waiting to know more before going forward. Of course I feel worried about him but I feel like it's a more selfish worry because what if he can't continue his work I know there are other doctors but I only felt ok with this pregnancy because he was going to be doing the delivery like all my faith and confidence was in him.

I'm sorry you're feeling stressed, but honestly there are never guarantees of who you will get when you go into labor anyway... doctors can't work 24/7. I hope the doctor you want can deliver your baby, but I'm sure you'll be in good hands no matter what happens!

So happy!!! Placenta previa is moving

I got moved from complete placenta previa down to marginal placenta!! I am so happy , I have been stressing over this the past 2 months fearing a c section . For those with the same diagnosis stay positive! It definitely can move up 🙌🏼🙌🏼

Congrats! I was diagnosed with complete placenta previa and my doctor has claimed it is one of the worst he's seen in a while... so trying to stay optimistic!

Unexplained abdominal and back ache

Hey ladies just wondering if anyone else has had this. Wednesday evening I began having abdominal cramps all over and it eventually reached my back and hurt to breathe. I ended up going to the hospital and they kept me for a bit to make sure it wasn't pre term labor. It wasn't. Once everything was checked I was let go. No UTI and no labor. They think it was musculoskeletal. I am an acute care physical therapist assistant. On restrictions. Which I follow. After a couple days of rest and Tylenol it's gone. Anyone ever had this happen before? It's so weird. Now I just feel like my shoulders are weak like right after having the flu. I'm not sick other wise. So I don't think I had that but who knows.

I’m sorry you went thru that! Could it have been Braxton hicks? At least you’re reassured it wasn’t pre-term labour 🙏🏻 I’m sure you already know but make sure you stay hydrated, mama!

Heartburn and indigestion

I have been having really bad heartburn and indigestion no matter what I eat or don't eat. Tums of course are my saving grace but I have an aunt who told me to drink apple cider vinegar once a day and that would fix my issue. Has anyone heard of this or done it? I don't want to drink vinegar unless it really works and not just an old wives tale.

Insurance is stupid!

My insurance is changing (in addition to some other life events involving money so I'm very stressed) and my only choice was an insurance that covers literally every doctor and lab and person in the hospital I have been going to EXCEPT the midwives I have been seeing. So my only choice is to switch to an obgyn. I'm super upset because with my son 12 years ago I didn't know any better, didn't even want to be pregnant, was all alone and 20 years old but it was the worst experience ever besides coming home with my baby. I ended up with a c-section due to the chord being wrapped around his chest. But it was traumatic and I didn't hold my baby for almost an hour after and I was basically poked and prodded and given shots and all sorts of things without anyone explaining or asking me what I wanted. And then I think because at the time I was on medicaid, they never checked on me in recovery and ignored me till I left. I had to cry and beg them to let me breastfeed. They would send in doctors to tell me I was hurting my baby because he was losing weight (milk comes in slower for c-section babies and notoriously those babies lose some weight, they were lying to me). So now I feel extremely upset having to go to an obgyn who is going to question me having a vbac. Be mean about breastfeeding. Try to tell me what to do the whole time and treat me like I'm sick. Childbirth is natural and shouldn't be treated like you are ill. Am I being dramatic? Are there better obgyns out there rather than the evil ones I met 12 years ago????? Help me feel better 😭

Definitely look around. Look at reviews online. If you know anyone in your area who has gone through pregnancy recently, reach out and ask. Most women are happy to share info and whether they’d recommend their OB or not. I love mine. I’m heading into what is probably going to be my 2nd c-section. I’m going to breastfeed this time. I asked if I could let my daughter latch while they were still cleaning/stitching me up. She said she’s not seen it done where I’m delivering but if I advocate and the nurses don’t pitch too much of a fit, she’s all for it.

“Excessive Weight Gain”

Ohkayy sooo i’m 25 weeks pregnant and I lost 6 pounds when I found out I was pregnant due to me not being able to eat much and being nauseous all the time , so anyways .. i ended up gaining 29 pounds since then. I gained 14 pounds in 1 month .. I literally do not eat a lot and it doesn’t even look like i’m gaining anymore weight than the baby weight. My doctor is now concerned about swelling and wants to watch for that at my next appointment. But she did say I am gaining too much weight and that an average person my size is only expected to gain 20 pounds throughout the whole pregnancy.. has anyone else had this issue of gaining “excessive weight gaining*

I’ve gained about 18-20 lbs so far and I’m 26 weeks, so I don’t think it’s that big of a deal.
