- Disappearing Line? When the dye starts to run across the test window, you will start to see the dye form a line, then it disappears once it settles. Unfortunately,that would be an evaporation line. True test lines do not disappear.

- What is an Evaporation line? Simple, it is known as a grey line, which generally can appears on the test. These lines get darker as the test sits (usually). Another reason why we do not recommend looking at the test past the allotted time (10 minutes).

- What is an Indent line? Simple, it is where the antibody test strip is. As urine runs across the test strip the control line will turn pink, if there is any HCG detected in your urine the test line will turn pink. If not, it will stay a white/gray. We often pull this line during a tweak, it is called an indent.

- What is a dye run? As urine runs across the test strip sometimes it carries extra dye and turns the entire strip pink/blue. This can be due to over saturation, not laying the test flat a few minutes after wetting or a manufacture error.

- OPK touching a HPT (home pregnancy test) can create false positive? Ovulation predictor tests (OPK's) contain different antibodies than pregnancy tests (HPT's.) If you place a wet pregnancy test too close to an OPK (ovulation predictor kit) (so that they're touching) the OPK (ovulation predictor kit) can actually contaminate the pregnancy test and cause 2 lines to appear, even if there is no pregnancy hormone (hCG) in the urine.

- Digital Pregnancy Tests - Never take a digital pregnancy test apart to see the lines. It doesn't matter what kind of test. There are always two lines on Digital tests. There is no way to tweak those tests.

- Blue dye - These tests are infamous for giving false positives. The reason they do is because the dye runs & settles into the test line area, creating a line. I. They almost always have a faint false positive line on them!

- Taking the Test Apart - Please make sure and take a picture ASAP of the test once you take it out of the casing. Once Air hits the test, it will start to dry it faster, and an indent line will form more visible, or evaps will get darker. If this sits out long enough you will see a line, and it will make you think it is a true line, when it isn't. Even when you tweak it, it will be visible and could even be some what pink because of the saturation of the colors when tweaked. So be very careful of this!

- Dried Urine on your Test strip - Unfortunately some of your dried urine on the test can form a smudge of a line, often times it will tend to, of course, be yellow, but can add pink to it, especially on dollar tree pregnancy tests. Try and be careful about how much urine you have on your pregnancy test strip when you take it. Try not to over saturate your pregnancy test. Always follow the package instructions on how much urine to use (whether it is midstream, dipstick, or dropper tests).

- URINE COLLECTION:

1.) Do not use first morning urine samples as LH is synthesized in your body early in the morning. It will not show up in your urine until later in the day.

2.) The best time to collect your urine is between 10am and 8pm.

3.) Collect urine at about the same time each day (as, depending on the time of day your LH amount can very because we ALWAYS have LH in our system).

4.) Reduce liquid intake about 2 hours before collecting your urine as a diluted urine sample can prevent the test from detecting the LH surge.
