Going to start on Metformin prescribed by my family doctor.

My obgyn did blood work and a sonogram last week and my blood suger was high (165) and my liver as well. I was told it could be fatty liver due to the fact i cannot lose weight (235lbs) (Been that weight for two years no matter what I do I cannot lose it! ) and for the blood suger was recommended i needed to see a family doctor and get it checked out if I want to be healthy to ttc our rainbow baby sooo... I found out yesterday my ultrasound results show I have PCOS & my mom bought me a Glucose Monitor since they were worried about my blood work showing a high suger and my mom is diabetic & knows everything om how to use a Glucose kit and was showing me how, so she told me to check mine to test it out by myself and it was (274!) After lowering my suger I looked for a dr and I made an appointment for today and I found out i have Prediabetes so I'm getting put on metformin For my blood suger and pcos. I'm hoping it regulates my periods as well since they have never been normal and hoping to be able to concive because it took 8 years for my second son and 2 1/2 for my angel baby. My depression has been so horrible due to how I was suppose to be welcoming our baby into the world instead I'm left empty with the thoughts of what could have been. And now 4 months ttc with no luck so far and only one period and to only find out this. I feel so heart broken. Anyone have any good/successfull stories after being put on metformin and and info on what to expect side effects or anything?
