I was a store manager and around 10 weeks pregnant; I had really bad morning sickness. So Im working on front counter and I’m the only one on front end. We were really busy and since like 7pm last night I had been non stop throwing up (I’m dry heaving at this point) I run to the bathroom and one of my employees comes in and follows me “are you going to come out and help or not” I couldn’t even reply cuz my head was in toilet she continues “ we need you out here if your this sick why even come in” when I’m done I walk out of the stall and tell her “ if we are really that busy why the hell are you in here harassing me” she went on to say that “ if you didnt want to be sick then you shouldn't have opened your legs.”

I’m shocked and I really wanted to punch her in the face. Needless to say I went into the office and cried and threw up more.

What would you call this? Honestly after this day I stopped going into work (mostly because I didn’t want to deal with this chick and when I told my boss about it she told me I couldn’t do anything cuz it would be considered “retaliation.” ) but my morning sickness kept getting worse and worse up until I was 25 weeks pregnant and was admitted into the hospital.

I filed for unemployment but now they are saying they need more information to determine if I should have applied for disability or unemployment. I thought disability was social security and it never even occurred to me that was what I should have applied for.

I stopped going to work for many reasons other than just the above situation. I was transferred to another store so I could “continue training”. Once I told my boss I was pregnant, at this other location is where everything just started going down hill… my coworker needed someone to come in at 2am and she didn’t want to so I had to - I wasn’t able to stop and eat or take breaks and my only “breaks” were when I was going to the bank or doing office work, and so much more.

I will be honest, when I was 30 weeks pregnant I did call my boss to see if I could go back to work cuz I was feeling a lot better at this point (I had my moments but it wasn’t as bad as it was before) but I guess she was on a leave of absence. So I call the assistant director and left a ton of messages and got no reply eventually I started looking for work and watching friends kids for money and wrote those down for hours worked/ job searching.

ALOT happened between then and up until my daughter was two months old where I did end up accepting a temp job the same day my daughter started daycare.

I’m just really nervous that I’m going to have to pay unemployment back and I can’t afford to do that ( I’m a single mom and honestly want my daughter to be out of pull-ups cuz it’s so hard to afford those at the moment,) idk if anyone else has been in a similar situation.
