How soon after a spouses die do you start a new series relationship?

As soon as your ready... my Pop got married in December and my Nana died 3yrs ago June. His new wife had the same experience. Both spouses had cancer and died from untreatable cancer.

My husband and I both agreed that this marriage would be it... It wasn't until death do us part, it was just for good. If of us passed early and unexpectedly, we would follow Paul's example and stay single. I know it's technically ok to remarry or date... It's just not for us.

So for us, never.

There would be no gap between relationships, because only one spouse would have passed. However, it is unlikely that I would be moved to take on an additional spouse any time soon, if at all. I don't deal with death well, and losing a loved one that is a pillar in my life would gut me. I can't say for certain because it hasn't happened, knock on wood, but I doubt I would ever truly move on.

My grandma was married to my grandpa for 30 years and he died of esophageal cancer. My grandma started dating a new man about a year later or less. This shocked my mom (I wasn't born yet) at first because of how long they were together and how sudden the cancer killed him (literally he found out the day after thankgiving and he died a few days after Christmas) but she saw how sad she was all the time after he died and how happy she was when she found someone that she never said anything about it to her
