Would it be tactless/tasteless/unclassy to post a baby registry on Facebook?

I just had my baby shower and 25% of the items were bought. We are trying to pay off some credit card debt while making sure we have everything for baby when he arrives May 27. Would it be tactless/tasteless/unclassy to post a baby registry announcement on Facebook to see if other friends might buy some items? 😔

To me that just seems like begging for gifts. If they weren't good enough friends to invite to your baby shower than it seems kind of weird to think they'd want to buy you a gift.

I wouldn't. Put it in the shower invite but don't expect random people to buy you stuff.. If they want to get you something, they will. IMO I think its kind of tacky

If you had friends that can't go to your shower but will visit after baby comes and they ask what you're needing tell them from your list. If they're good enough friends you'll know their budget

I agree with the other comments. Stick to making sure you have the absolute basic necessities (diapers, wipes, bottles/formula if you're found that route, a couple outfits, a place to sleep, a car seat). Anything past that is nice to have. Check out second hand stores! I got 40 outfits from NB to 12 months for $30 at a second hand store.

We live in a digital age and I don't think there's anything wrong with it. People create websites for their weddings why shouldn't you do something for your baby?

Many people may want to buy you something but aren't sure what you want, where to ship it, etc. and people with social anxiety may not have the fortitude to just call or message you to ask!

Go for it. If people don't like it they probably won't say anything.

I'm actually going to create a Facebook event for the baby shower as well . We have a ton of friends and family that don't live here, so fb is a great way for them to contribute if they want without having to be at the baby shower.

No way. If you have friends and family on there that didn't get a chance to get you something for the baby shower or didn't make it, or maybe that didn't hear about it I'm sure some people will want to help out!
