When did you get your first ultrasound?

Do you recommend getting an ultrasound before or after the first trimester? If I go before atleast 10 weeks and they can't find a heartbeat I will freak out. When do you think I should schedule my first ultrasound? I am 4 weeks and 4 days.

I had my first ultrasound at about 6 weeks, as my cycle isn't very regular, so my Dr. wanted to confirm the dates. They could only see the yolk sac, no fetal pole, so I had to go back three weeks later for another scan. During g those three weeks, I had blood tests to check my hormone levels, which were apparently super high, so my Dr. told me I could be having a miscarriage, or twins, or a blighted ovum ect. Needless to say, it was very stressful! 
At the next scan, we saw a little blob wiggling around, and they guesses I was around 9 weeks. My 12 and 20 weeks scans were normal, I am now 30 weeks, with a healthy baby girl, so all the stress was for naught.
If I were you, I would wait until 10-12 weeks for your first scan, which I know is a long time, but in my (limited) experience, it can be really stressful if things don't go the way you expect early on.

All these people who had them early pissed me off. Haha. My doctor wouldn't see me until I was 10w5d but I had an ultrasound then, and honestly I was glad he waited. The baby actually looked like a baby and not just a blob. Lol.

Had my dating scan at 7wks. Saw her heartbeat! She looked like a little gummybear!

My first one was done when I was 5 weeks and 3 days along just to confirm the pregnancy however at my 6 week 2 day one, we saw the fetal pole and got to see and hear the little heartbeat ☺️

I got a transvaginal ultrasound at 6 weeks 6 days. Saw the heartbeat and tiny baby :)
