Am i wrong?

So I've seen people respond to questions about the didgital test like
Q. I took a digital test it said 1-2 weeks pregnant
R. It says 1-2 weeks since ovulation, your really 3-4 weeks
How is that possible? I thought you get pregnant when you ovulate. You definitely wouldn't if gotten pregnant before, so how would you really be farther?
Wouldn't the answer be that the test isn't going by your ovulation? That the doctors would say your 3-4 weeks because they go off of your last period?

Most doctor's measure your pregnancy from the first day of your last period. So part of your pregnancy is actually counted from before you even conceived. I conceived on Christmas, but my LMP was December 15 so that is the date they use to calculate with.

Technically, the test would be correct, yes. But doctors are always going to go by the period. Just like we always say women carry a child for "9 months" in reality, it's really 10 months. Because 40 weeks is full term, AKA 10 months..

It would be 3-4 weeks because doctors date your pregnancy from the first day of your last period which is on average 2 weeks before you ovulate

I'm not sure why the digitals show 1-2 weeks when it's really 3-4, but I imagine it's because different women ovulate on different times in their cycles. Some women have very long cycles, some have very short. So the test just estimates based on hcg level. It's just expected that you'll go to a doctor afterward who will determine the exact number of weeks along you are.

Dr's go by the date of your last period. Conception starts when you ovulate and the egg gets fertilized, but for whatever reason...in early pregnancy it is dated from your LMP until you get your first ultrasound. They take your whole cycle into consideration.

Yea I know the doctors date it with a two week lapse because they go by your period. I guess my question is, wouldn't the test actually be the correct one?
