When to buy home

Question

When is the right time to buy a home? With a bump or postpartum? Please share anecdotes!

My husband and I bought our first home when I was 8 months pregnant it was stressful to try and get everything done before the baby got here but I loved being able to nest in our own home rather than a temporary place that I would have to do all over again after the baby was already here. I much rather be able to get things done while baby was still inside rather than trying to work around a clean cranky newborn. Hope that helps :-)

After! Or at least wait to move in until after. Me and my bf watch hgtv a lot and there's so many pregnant women on the shows. I think finding a house and moving in before you give birth would be too much added stress.

Wait until after. No need to put the extra stress on you during pregnancy.  Also, at least for me, I have found that I don't necessarily make the most rational decisions when pregnant,  even though they seemed rational at the time.

Before. We moved into our house when I was 6mos. That was hard enough, can't imagine trying to do it with an infant.

Before. Stress of moving w a newborn would be hard. U might not have time or energy to search, pack, organize a new home etc.

We bought when I was four months. I think it was the best move for us because it allowed us to set up her room and be ready for her arrival rather than packing up and moving with an infant.
