Pain relief in pregnancy

I am in excruciating pain with my hips, I have 30/500 co-codamol that my doctor gave me before I was pregnant but I'm not sure if they are safe in pregnancy, I'm just wondering if anybody has been given them by a doctor in pregnancy?? I'm 17 weeks today.
