Gender selection?

Just wondering everyone's thoughts on gender selection. Wether it be medical reasons or just a couples preference on a certain sex.

Gender selection as in choosing a specific egg? Sure whatever floats their boat. Their money.

Gender selection as in terminating a specific pregnancy because of the gender of the fetus? Not so much, but bodily automy still exists and that's not a huge deal in the U.S.

Honestly, I love my children but if Damien had been another girl I wouldnt have had another until I could afford gender selection. I have 4 daughters and 1 son. I love my girls but theres too many lol.

The intended parents of the baby I'm carrying have two boys and wanted a girl. So they chose the healthiest female embryo to transfer.

I voted no but then changed my mind. There is a genetic condition which runs on my husbands side where the boys have a 1 in 4 chance of being born with the condition or being carriers where as girls only have a 1 in 70 chance. It's a pretty serious condition which is seriously making us consider whether we will risk having another child in case we have a boy (although I would love a little boy 😞)

It's other people's money...their choice. Do I agree with it, no. But, I won't get my undies in a bunch over it, haha. Now, for medical reason - all for it, and I would even consider it if I needed to. Say for instance there is a very scary disease that's passed to only a specific gender, I would rather choose to have the gender it won't affect so my child doesn't need to go through that pain. Or, there is a less common infertility issue of a woman only accepting either X or Y. And if the male only gives the one the woman rejects, they can have problems getting pregnant. Another reason that gender selection would be totally understandable!

Me an my SO are wanting to try some of the ways to pick a certain gender we want a girl but we have both agreed either way as long as it's a healthy baby we are going to be very happy

If you’re for it. I say go ahead and choose to your liking. It’s your money, your body(?)  and what you and your spouse decide. People will have their opinion but will still love and support the child regardless! As a mom of 5 girls; last two pregnancies where both twin pregnancies/ identical! We would love to have a little boy and my daughters want a brother. We would like to try one last time but scared it may be another girl/ which is okay with us either way but having a little boy would bring a different energy to our household hold. I’m all for gender selection and we are actually going to do it after i graduate from nursing school!
