Hair dye while TTC?

Question

Ladies, does anyone know if its safe to use non-ammonia based hair dye while TTC? I'm thinking the ammonia based dye's are a no-no but not sure if even the smaller amount of chemicals would be detrimental? Or maybe that only applies after you are already preggers? Thanks for the input!

I colored my hair w/ baby #1 2- NO ISSUES!!!! They are 6 yrs old and 6 months! Always bed. Safe. There's no need to look like a mess (w/ bad roots) nowadays that was always a myth and a thing of the past! My OBGYN said it was fine. So I went w/ it n looked glamorous throughout both pregnancies! Bc there will come a time in ur preg that you will not feel as beautiful as before, so doll yourself up- you deserve it!!! Best wishes!

My bestie gets her hair done quiet regularly and she was at the hair dressers for 5hrs when she was about 25wks preg and she asked b4 she TTC and they said its safe. I've had my hair coloured at home (from a kit) and at the hairdresser, and I googled it before doing it, and all I really found out was that it was up to individual. If ur too worried don't do it or even at ur nxt prenatal appt talk to ur dr or midwife xxxx

I am a stylist and there is nothing out there to prove that coloring your hair is harmful to the baby or while pregnant. You don't consume it and it doesn't enter your blood stream. When I was pregnant with my first I couldn't stand the smell but I still colored!

It is safe, you can even use decolorizer (bleach). As long as you are in a well ventilated room.
