Do you have a promise ring?

I casually mentioned it to my boyfriend and he laughed at me. He said it's stupid and said that he would never do that because he doesn't like jewelry and he didn't want to risk me posting on Facebook and embarrassing him. Do you have a promise ring or think they're cute?

I had one in highschool and it didn't work out. First ring my husband bought me was an engagement ring.

My husband got me a promise ring for our first Christmas, it signified that he would always love me and care for me no matter what, then 6 months later we were engaged 2 years after that we got married and I'm now carrying our first baby x

I've been with my man 9 years (high school sweethearts) and we don't plan to get married for likely 10 years. He bought my promise ring for my 24th birthday and I wear it proudly. We're common-law lol so it's my common law marriage ring ;)

My husband gave me one about a year and a half before he proposed.  When I opened the gift and saw the small jewelry box he immediately said "wait....it's not what you think it is....it's wouldn't be giving it to you like this if it were THE ring" and then after I opened it he said that he knew that he loved me and wanted to marry me one day but that he wanted us both to be entirely sure before taking the engagement step.

I still have it in my jewelry box and love the sentimental meaning behind it.

My bf got my one after being together for 7 months..everyone says it's like a pre engagement ring but with mine he said it's a promise to always love me and make our relationship work etc cause he says i deserve it even though we won't get engaged or married

My fiance got me a promise ring about 6 months before proposing, promising me that he fully intended to marry me. I never really believed in them prior to recieving it but it was a beautiful gesture and I guess kept me from bugging him while he was getting prepared to propose lol
