Mental illness and disability/Medicaid?

Question

I suffer from a number of mental health problems (depression, PTSD, ADHD, insomnia, anxiety, panic disorder, and agoraphobia). Because of some of these, especially the panic disorder and agoraphobia, I'm currently not working.

I've heard that you can qualify for disability pay and/or Medicaid because of mental illness. Does anyone know whether I would qualify and what I need to do to apply?
EDIT: I am in Texas, and I do see a psychiatrist for my mental health issues.

I have Social Security Disability, SSI, Medicaid, Medicare, and food stamps for my multiple mental illnesses. I am also facing a continuing life of poverty, because I make very little on disability. Still, it's better than being homeless with no medical care. Without my mental health meds, I'd commit suicide within three months, guaranteed. And I know a lot more about how to complete it now than I did when I attempted it twice before. Even with meds my bipolar cycles (I'm in the eighth month of a depressive episode), I self-injure, have suicidal ideation often, and hallucinate.

You'd have to be able to get a letter from your doctors stating you have those issues and it effects your ability to work.

Without you also adding the state you live in its difficult to determine what else you would need or if you qualify.

Starting a Google search to determine the correct office in your state would be a good first step.

You should be able to find all that info online at some .gov address. I hope you get the help you need! I've been meaning to do that too, in California
