How did you meet?

Question

Did you approach your significant other or did they approach you? Who made the first move?

We met on a dating site. I messaged him first. His profile was honest and articulate and very well written (I found out on our first date that he has a master's in English). I doubt we would have dated if I met him at a bar or in some other social situation. He's not my typical type and he's shy and hugely socially awkward. All things I love about him now but probably wouldn't have done him any favours if he tried to pick me up.

I made the first move..we were somewhat friends from junior high he was also the cousin to my best friend .  He moved an hour and a half away to a city where I wanted to go to school so out the blue I called him to give me a tour of the city and we fell in love from there

We had been hanging out for a couple of weeks when he said: "So what is this?"

I said: "Well, I wouldn't punch you if you tried to kiss me." I'm so poetic, aren't I?

That was 4 years ago, we got married last May. Our son is due in June :)

Sat beside me one day in our Statistics lecture and I offered him a mint. Got his number. We started studying together. I asked him if he wanted to go for lunch. He said yes. It went well... 3 dates later we decided to make it official! We've been dating for a year and half :)

I was on blind date with someone else. I recognized my now husband because we work in the same industry. He invited me and my date over to his table for drinks. Incidentally, I think he was also on a date. We both ended up ditching our dates and we have been together ever since :)

His family and my family have been pretty close (his uncle and my uncle grew up together always best friends) I had moved from the area when he started coming around more. When I moved back and started working at my uncles company, he came by with his dad one day. My jaw literally dropped. My cousin had to hit me to get to to stop staring!! I always had the biggest crush on this boy but I was too shy to talk and he always looked as if he wasn't interested anyways. This went on for almost an entire year! One day he came by the shop with his aunt and nephew bc we were working on his nephews 4 wheeler. It was a Sunday and he had a Budweiser in his hand and he said are you gonna talk to me today or what?! I said sure we can talk what's up?! When he went to leave, he said can I get a hug today? I walked up to him and said you can have a hug any day and he tried to push me away like he was joking about the hug and I said no you asked for a hug and you're gonna get a hug! I got in the car and said omg did you see that?! Did you see who I just hugged...it was amazing! The next day I added him on Facebook. I was so nervous about doing it bc I'm so shy. Turns out he never talked to me bc he was too shy himself and thought the same thing I did! We have been inseparable ever since. I love this man beyond any words. It's my favorite love story!!
