Coughing so hard it hurts

I have been sick the past couple days with a horrible cough. I am at a loss as what I should do for this sore throat. I've tried salt water, taken halls, Vicks rub everywhere lol anyone have any suggestions? I know the baby is protected but my coughs are physically hurting my lower stomach.
