At what age did you start introducing puréed foods?

Just very curious as the guidelines in the uk are 6months but every baby is different so I would like to have your opinion and personal experience:)

Never I gave my nephew real food at 5 1/2 months. So much easier and a lot more benefits in the long run compared to baby food.

I'm not knocking those who posted about introducing food early, that's your choice. But for information purposes, it really is important to wait until 6 months due to gut development. They may show they are tolerating well, but it can lead to long term digestion and health issues. Now, I'm NOT saying this is the case for EVERY baby.

It's no different then recommendations on anything else. Not every who has a great diet will live a long healthy life and not everyone who smokes will get lung cancer.

I started giving my baby cereal in his bottle at 3 weeks then at 2 months spoon fed him rice and cereal then 3 months we started feeding him

I didn't do the puree with my second. I did baby led weaning at 6 months, all finger foods. It's far better. They learn to chew before swallowing thus creating a less fussy baby when getting to lumpy foods. Lots of mess and waste but food is not the main diet until they are over 12 months.

4 months with my first. I won't be using pureed food for baby number 2. I'm using the montessori method and baby led weaning. They start eating what everyone else eats (within reason of course) at 6 months.
