Maternity photos without husband?

I want to get maternity photos done as a surprise for my husband, but am wondering if I'll regret it if he's not in them! Opinions, please! :)

My husband is probably wayyyy different than everyone else's. But he wants to be a part of the process and bond as much as he can (which is hard since he isn't physically going through what I am). I would surprise him with a shoot, and just have him meet you and take pics before he gets there. It could be a really sweet surprise! He will think it was a shoot for the two but when pictures come you'll have done something special beforehand! I know that some photographers will work with you like that (:
