UTI or period? UGH

So I had the unfortunate experience of getting a UTI. About 4 days prior to that I took an emergency contraception because my fiancé and I had a condum slip up. Normally with plan b one step I get my period early a few days later, so it wouldn't be weird if I had my period now either. But this "period" was extremely heavy and happened the same day as my UTI happened, so I'm thinking maybe it was not a period and just a side effect of the UTI. But upon research, I find that if you have blood during a UTI, it's only when you go to the bathroom, and this was full on blown blood, I had to wear a tampon and everything lol, but if it is a period I find it suspicious it was only during the two days I had a UTI. Can a period even last for only 2 days anyway? It was way to much blood for spotting. What do you guys think?
