Has this blood spot in the eye happened to anyone else? How long did it take to go away? (got in a car crash last week, fractured my orbital bone and part of my nose). The doctor didn't say anything about it.

I just had one. From what I read they're pretty common - can be caused by anything as simple as sneezing or coughing! So yeah I think it's normal for you having just been in a car accident! Hope you have a speedy recovery

I had one like that took like 2 weeks to fully go away. I was in any trauma so I don't know how I got it! I was shocked when my mom pointed it out. It will slowly get smaller and more faded.

As an Certified Ophthalmic Assistant, it's just an sub conjunctival hemorrhage. Most likely from the impact. It should go away in 10-14 days. Apply cold compresses to the eye daily, that should help. If your vision ever feels affected, see an ophthalmologist, not an optometrist. 🙂
