When would/will you give your daughter ~the talk~?

I think it's important to talk about private parts early on. Also educating about what is appropriate and what isn't regarding sexuality. Each child is different, but the "talk" in my opinion should happen in late elementary school. I also feel like it's a good idea for it to be an ongoing conversation not just a one time event.

Should be early 8-10 because I started my period at 9 and had no clue what was happening because my mom didn't give me the "talk" yet.

As soon as she and he for that matter starts talking about it in school. I was in 5th grade when my classmates started talking about it.

I have 2 boys. The oldest is 5, and he already asked how babies get in bellies. So Ive explained it to him several times. 
You should explain it to children when they ask. If they are old enough to ask, they are old enough to know. 
And if you tell them more than they can retain, they will forget. You will have to tell them many times. 
I'm very open with my children about sex and always will be. 
My parents NEVER had a sex talk with me, except when I BEGGED my mom to tell me what a boner is. I had to beg all day. I was 13. (I was home schooled.) 
Now I'm a childbirth educator, and doula. And I love to talk about sex. And read about sex.

Whenever she's emotionally and mentally mature enough to handle the talk. That being said, sex/anatomy will not be the taboo subject most see it as in my house. My daughter won't grow up thinking a stork delivered her, or she came from my bellybutton. She won't call her genitals her "wee wee" or other stupid nicknames. She'll know it's a vagina and that's where babies come out, and how a period works. She'll understand biology and anatomy, in an age-appropriate way.

Honestly in society we live around twelve depending on maturity level. Because at that time they already feel pressures of society and the fact that social media is breeding ground for pervs does not help. So I would have the talk w her before someone else beats you too it! Yeah I hate the world too :/

I was 12 before I started! Late bloomer I guess. But I never got the sex talk, my older sister filled me in on the important stuff but my mom never did...

I had the talk with my daughter at the age of 9. She started her period for the first time a few months later. I'm also a pediatric nurse and see kids having babies at the age of 12-13.
