Desired Gender

If you desired to have one of each gender or a particular gender of baby, how many times would you try in order to get that gender?

Example: you really want a girl. Your first baby is a boy and so is your second. Would you try for a girl with pregnancy three?

Trying once would mean you only want a single child no matter the gender.

This is merely out of curiosity.
