Whens the earliest i can take a 2 hour drive with my newborn?

Most of my family and all of my SO's family live 2 hours away from us. How early is my baby able to take that 2 hour trip? Can I do it within the first 2 weeks or will I have to wait like a month? I have no idea I need help

It prob just depends how you feel about it &maybe you'll want to take time to bond and learn to breastfeed (if u are) so that your more comfortable being away from home. ..but thats just me i like to learn my routine first.

My hospital is an hour away so I'm assuming you should be able to at birth

I'm not sure, but I wouldn't want my baby around lots of people that young. It's best to keep them home for as long as possible to avoid them getting sick. You'll all be exhausted aswell and the baby won't enjoy being a pass the parcel.

You can go when you're comfortable, but keep in mind that you will be bleeding pretty heavily for the first week to 2 weeks, may have stitches, and will potentially be learning how to breastfeed still. Sitting in the car could be very uncomfortable if you go before you heal.  While I completely understand wanting to go visit- 2 hours isn't too much to ask family to maybe come visit you instead. My inlaws are all 3.5 hours away and we don't take our babies there until after their 2 month shots.

I asked a pediatrician when is the earliest you should consider travel with a newborn and he said there's no such thing as too early.

You can go as soon as you like, but I would recommend not making commitments/promises. I RSVP'd yes to a wedding that occurred 2 weeks after my son's birth and it was fun....but a little rough. I'd be willing to bet family would be willing to come to you to meet the baby :).

If it were me, ID wait closer to a month. We had to have a lot of time outside the house due to medical issues with our newborn and it was difficult. Take a few weeks to get the hang, heal, give baby time to build some neck strength before having in car for a while....
