Zika might be in US by summer?

This has freaked me out a bit. 
I will still be pregnant by the estimated time in the article and I live in an orange (moderate risk) section 😩

Someone tell me this won't happen!

West Nile has been in North America forever and can cause just as many problems but pregnant women and their babies are still doing just fine. Zika is just a media hype and a reminder to take normal mosquito precautions.

Stay in or covered up at dusk and dawn, avoid stagnant water, wear long pants and sleeves if necessary, and use bug repellent according to the instructions on the bottle.

The media is having a field day with articles scaring people.

For the most accurate information, search for the CDC info page (Google "CDC Zika US"). It'll have total and state by state numbers.

The most important thing to note is "vector" based infections. Vector = mosquitoes. Currently it's still zero. All cases in the US are people who either got it while abroad or had sex with someone who did.

Take reasonable precautions against mosquitoes this summer and you should be fine. (For info on that, search "CDC mosquitoes pregnancy" or "CDC DEET pregnancy".)
