Why is healthy food so expensive?

Why is healthy food so expensive and  bad food so cheap? Shouldn't it be the other way around...?

Mass production and fillers make it cheap. Although banana's and apples are pretty cheap, healthy foods.

Right! We spend almost 200 a week on 3 people. Once upon a time health was not as important, and we made it on 50 bucks a week. I just wish fresh fruits and veggies weren't so damn expensive.

Shop at brookshires.  They do buy one get one for a penny on their produce a lot. I always go snag fresh heads of broccoli and collifuer when they do it

We were struggling financially for several years and discovered we could buy enough fresh food for a week for $25 at local Asian and Indian markets. Their prices were 1/3 of the American supermarkets and everything was fresher. We live just south of San Francisco. Other cities with large first and second generation immigrant populations probably have similar hidden gems!

Exactly. I constantly think the same thing. Up here in arctic Alaska we pay double for stuff. 4 things at the store is literally $100, no joke. 😖😬😖😬😬😭😬💩
