From the perspective of someone who used to pierce ears, I can definitely say it was much easier to do my job on an infant than let's say a four or five year old because they will fight back and are actually strong enough to kick me or punch me kinda hard. Plus an infant will never remember getting their ears pierced.

I'm having a girl and I have nooo idea when I'll do it! But I've personally pierced DOZENS of babies, infants, children it's definitely easier to pierce a smaller child. The older they get you think your waiting until they ask and want it done but just because they want it doesn't mean they are going to sit still while it's done. It takes much longer because almost all older children will say they want it then stop you at the last minute before you peirce or even worse they jump or pull away from you as your piercing and it's just a very difficult situation. I'm sure you will make the right decision for your family 😊 and good luck!

I'm not going to do it until she's able to speak and tell me herself she wants it done .. Then I'll go from there .

I got my ears pierced at five yrs, no problem. Didn't ask them to stop, didn't squirm or any of the other things people are complaining about because I asked my mom to pierce my ears. It was super exciting and I loved getting to choose my first earrings and being trusted to be responsible enough to take care of them :)

That's awesome! I had very few girls whose ears I pierced that were like that though /:

I had mine done when I was a year old and now they're crooked. Doesn't happen to everyone but it is a possibility. They also had a lot of issues getting infected constantly because my skin was very sensitive as a child.

I personally would wait until my kids are older just because her ears will be so tiny and they have a lot of growing to do so the piercing can possibly migrate and she ages. Also, I love getting piercings and my favorite part about getting them is probably the relief of it being done after all the anticipation beforehand. I'd want my child to experience that feeling of "i did it" after choosing to get the piercing his/herself. Also I think that my love of piercings has made me such a good sport with getting shots lol! But anyway, that's just me and whatever you choose to do is fine! If I may though, I would absolutely recommend that you don't get her pierced with a piercing a gun, and with a proper needle instead. You can have a healthy piercing from a gun with no problems but there are many reasons that getting it done with the needle is so much safer

I didn't mean that it will definitely happen, but there some people out there who's ear lobe piercings aren't quite as centered anymore since they got them young. But again, just a possibility not a definite :)

Mine were done as an infant & the holes grew SUPER crooked. They were straight when I was a baby, but your ears sort of grow at different rates or something. I had to get one ear pierced a second time to make them look even, now I have to wear big earrings that cover up the first hole cause it looks dumb
