While TTC, is it better to have sex only every other day?

The reason I am asking is I just had a miscarriage the end of February/beginning of March and my cycle has now started over. My doctor is doing some blood work throughout my cycle as well to see why. She gave us the go ahead to track ovulation and start actively trying again. She said to be sure to have sex every other day. I have always heard that you should have sex every other day while trying because waiting too long in between can make the sperm weaker. Well if we have sex everyday do you think that could still allow for weak or underdeveloped sperm thus possibly causing a miscarriage?

I want the best chance at concieving again, but don't want to do something that could cause us to go through the same pain. Last time, which was my first pregnancy, we had sex everyday during my fertile days and got pregnant on the first try.

You can have too much sex while TTC. His fertile swimmers can be exhausted if he's doing it to often. So to have a better chance of getting healthy, fertile guys it's recommended to have sex every other day. I've also heard 3 days before and after your peak ovulation day. It's a good thing to google if you have the time!

How often you have sex will not determine whether or not you will have a miscarriage. For the best chances of conception use the ovulation kits. Try to just relax and have fun. My husband and I went through a miscarriage and know how hard it is afterwards. The pressure can get to you. You can't worry about another miscarriage. Remember that it was not your fault the first time.

My OB told me every 24 hours when we know I'm ovulating!

I dunno if it's better, per se, but we didn't have sex every day and also didn't do it on my day of ovulation (just the two days before and the day after) and got preggie :)

We had sex every day or multiple times a day and haven't had issues. But given your history, if I were you, I'd probably change it up just for peace of mind and only do it every second day. I doubt it makes much difference though and always remember miscarriage happens for way too many reasons beyond your control to bother blaming yourself! Good luck!
