*If you've had a bad experience like this feel free to share!* So I finally got the courage to go to the doctors for birth control today and it was absolutely horrible!!  She came in, didn't even close the door....she said "So you're here for birth control?? Well I'm not an OBGYN so I'll have to reffer you to her! But in the meantime you're using condoms right?!" my mom was sitting right there and I wasn't about to come out (I'm 17) right then and there so I told her I wasn't sexually active and them she said "what?!? Oh no no no we don't perscribe birth control to people who aren't sexually active!! You're already highly overweight and you're only 17 so why are you even here?!" So I told her I wanted to get it before my insurance cut me off and I'm moving in with my boyfriend soon and she dropped her clipboard on the table, gasped, and rolled her eyes.... "Well then you might as well just admit you're sexually active!! I'm not stupid! Its not like I'm going to expose your information!!" All while the door was wide open....I just sat there speechless...  We asked for an appointment with the actual OBGYN and by then the door had gone from all the way open to halfway so she flung the door open nearly hitting my mom in the face and yells "we need to get her an appointment with jessica for birth control!" Then she comes back in, tells us to come back next week, and to have a nice day and leaves....it was conpletly humiliating and some may say "well if you have the guts to go to the doctor for birth control you should've been able to handle that" well no...Nobody should have to go through that.... Especially their first time going for something like that....By law these types of situations are suppose to be confidential and that is not what I got.
