calling all Catholics ✝ *gay q*

so this is the deal, as a Catholic I've been raised my whole life that "gay" is a bad word. (got sent to the principals office for using it @ a private catholic school) and I've been taught that it was a sin.
when i was in 6th or 7th grade my big brother came out to me by saying "I'll never have a wife. maybe a husband though" and I was kind of confused why he said that cause I was raised as its a sin.
I've talked to my religious leaders and they say "yes your brother is a sinner if he is acting upon his sexual urges to be with a man but if your brother killed someone (as killing is a sin) you would still love him, right? you can love a sinner. Jesus did."
but I don't want to think that my brother is going to hell for doing anal with a man because I don't believe in that.
-is it wrong of me to not confess certain things, and believe different things (like gay rights) and stay Catholic or should I change religions? I love my church and I love my religion. I just disagree with some things.
I need an adult. I'm so young and I need advice. no one has been able to help me so far and I've been struggling with this for many years now. 💞💞
