D&C/Period/Ovulation

I don't know what to do. I had a D&C exactly 4 weeks ago today. Two weeks after the D&C the hpt were all negative.
I thought I had ovulated two weeks after the D&C but my gynae said at my two week follow up appointment that it was too early for ovulation.
I was told to expect my approx period 4 weeks after D&C. I've had very mild cramping and back ache over the last two days, and yesterday there was quite a sufficient amount of watery discharge. I didn't think anything of it - Could this have been ovulation (I don't chart/temp)?
Little concerned if it is because hubby and I had sex yesterday🙈 and I haven't had a period since the D&C. We were told to hold off baking making for two cycles.
