Doctor for anxiety

Ta
I've been toying with the idea of going to the doctor for my anxiety for a while now but every time I think I'm gonna go I convince myself that it's not that bad and change my mind and then it gets bad again and the cycle continues. However, this morning I had an anxiety attack just going to work and I think that was my breaking point. I've dealt with this all for too long and I need to get some help. My plan is to just go to my normal doctors office to start with because they already have all my information. What should I expect from all of this? My thought is that medication might help me at first while I work on becoming more able to put myself out there, but I don't want to sound like I'm only there for pills. What do I say to my doctor? What will they say to me? I just need some help preparing so I'm not so anxious about going in. Thanks in advance!
