Please help so itchy n painful

Went to emergency room because i was moving states and er told me they think hives this is my fourth pregnancy and I have never had anything like this it looks like hives they think it's hives but Dr. couldn't really give me a diagnosis and he put me on prednisone and I started that today it left for one day and its all back anybody know
