Have any of you mamas dealt with a diagnosis of IUGR, and how did your little one fare after birth? Were you induced, and at what point? Were there any short or long term effects other than your baby being small?

I have been having monthly, and recently bi-weekly, growth scans since 17 weeks. My little man measured small from the start and his growth percentile has been steadily declining. I had another scan Wednesday, and was advised yesterday that he meets the profile for IUGR. There was next to no growth of his head or femoral length over the past few weeks, although he did put on some weight. I am 35w4 and have already had steroid injections (at 32 weeks) due to premature dilation and contractions. Right now we are trying to walk the line between letting his lungs develop a bit more inside and allowing him to grow outside of the womb. Induction has been mentioned if his growth doesn't pick up, and I am currently going for twice weekly NSTs in addition to my regular appointments. I guess I just need some reassurance.
