Infertility...

So I'm 20 and I've been with the same guy since I was 17. We've been on and off for 3 years now and I've only slept with one person once before dating him. So he's my second partner and the one I want to be my last. When we first started dating I made him wait a long time before doing it but then once we did I got on birth control. I was on it for close to a year and half while we were together but we kept breaking up and getting back together so I didn't want to keep putting my body through those hormones if I wasn't going to be sexual active for that time period. Just recently my boyfriend and I have stop using condoms and have experimented with trying to get me pregnant. We've had unprotected sex multiple times and waited to see if I'd get pregnant. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get pregnant. I'm just curious if any women who now have children had a similar experience and weren't able to get pregnant right away when first trying or if I should get both of us tested to see if we can even have children in the future.
